I have for sale a beautiful S 500 Mercedes coupe. The previous owner changed the S500 to S600 but it is 500. I bought this car out of California in the winter time and I have spent the last 3 months driving and making the necessary repairs to bring the mechanical components worthy of the great body that surrounds it. When I recieved the car it was supposed to be everything works but the engine had been overheated and the head gaskets leaked water into the crankcase. So I decided that instead of fixing it I may as well get a lower mileage engine. The replacement engine had 85,000 miles on it and I have added about 1000 since installation. When installing it the mechanic changed the water pump, thermostat, any hardened hoses and changed the oil, flushed the cooling system. Since the engine change I have installed new rotors and brake pads all 4 wheels, new mass air flow sensor, new spark plugs. From the original engine I saved some parts that I will give with the car. So here is the thing, I was apprehensive about working on the car myself even though I am a qualified industrial tradesman. But after working on it I found the car to be fairly simple to work on and if you are somewhat mechanical and enjoy working on cars have no fear this car is not that difficult. And while I was looking under the car I noticed that the exhaust pipes still had stickers on them so it looks like the exhaust is fairly new. It has such good original paint that it must have been garage kept including while at work. It has a brilliant shine to it. This car shines and drives great, I look at some of the newer Mercedes cars and to me this car puts them to shame. It has so many options and features. I find something new about it almost every time I drive it. Like when you shut the door no need to slam it just get it close to the latch and it finishes closing itself. The hood has 2 open positions one that is 90 degrees to the road so you can get in and work easily. It has an air pump to firm up the shocks when you want to do sporty driving just flip the switch. Heated seats, both front, memory seats both front, mirrors and steering wheel position to, when you turn the key an arm brings the seat belt latch close to you so you don't have to reach to much. The list of features goes on and on. I could write for hours about this car. Not working at this time is--------radio lost its sound a few days ago, the display works and the CD changes but no sound, and one rear head rest will not advance forward.
