Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 I am selling my ’87 944 Turbo. This car was used by my wife for street driving and PCA DE events. We have owned this car for the past 5-6 years and she has done about 3-4 events a year. We’ve made some tasteful modifications and it’s been a great track car and lots of fun. It’s just time to look to get one car for the both of us to make things a bit simpler. The 944 is solid overall, but by no means is a garage queen. The car has been used, but all maintenance has been consistently performed. Synthetic Mobil 1 was always used (15W-50) and changed after every event. The front oil seals and balancer belt/timing belt were all changed in 2010. When we first bought the car we did the following upgrades… - Lindsey racing 2 piece cross-over exhaust pipe - New K26/6 turbo - Baffled oil pan - New rod bearings (old ones looked good) - Widefire head gasket - Venturie delete kit Then after driving the car for a few years we made the following changes as well… - Yellow koni’s at all 4 corners w/ progressive 250lb springs up front - Full 3” turbo back exhaust – NO Cats NO muffler (not too loud) - Boost controller set at 15 lbs of boost - Stage 2 chip - Boost gauge and water temp gauge - Turbo floor mats - Oil breather catch can - Stainless steel brake lines - Super blue brake fluid - Billet Aluminum diverter valve - Lindsey racing vacuum lines - Heat shields over headers and hot side of turbo - Manual fan switch - Harness bar - Thermostat removed and replaced with restrictor plate - Power steering adjuster swapped out for solid mount adjustor arm - Cruise control was disconnected to clean up engine bay The cars interior is in good shape. There are no dash cracks that you usually see with the 944 model. The carpet is in decent shape and has one small tear in the driver’s side but the mats set it off. The door panels are in good condition and the sun roof and power mirrors all work. I would give the interior of the car 7 out of 10. It’s an older car but still in great shape. I feel I am being picky but that is just my nature. I’d give the exterior 7 out of 10 as well. There are some small stone chips in the front. It shines up well and is great from 5 feet away and certainly looks respectable. It came with a fiberglass rear bumper cover which was installed when we purchased the car. We recently had to fix on the drivers side where it was molded into the body, a crack had formed from the original job. This was repaired and repainted as you can see in the picture. The wheels are in decent shape and the tires have plenty of tread on them. There are a few know issues with the car and that’s why it doesn’t score 10 out of 10 in all categories, they are as follows… - there is a small oil leak coming from the passenger side balance shaft, small but want to let the next owner know - the power steering rack leaks a little fluid from either end, not a lot but again it does get a little oily it not cleaned up over time - The driver side mirror is epoxyed on, once while moving the mirror in during a normal cleaning the bushing inside the mount broke, thus leaving the mirror in my hand. You can’t see the epoxy, this happened over a year ago and we have done 3 track events since with no problems of the mirror falling off. - The wiper motor makes noise from time to time when on, I have a good spare used wiper motor that will go with the car, the next owner just needs to install it - The AC doesn’t work (since it was a track car it never bothered us) - The odometer has stopped working consistently. Over the past 5 years we have driven this car less than 3,000 miles a year, on the title it reads that the mileage is exempt. When we purchased the car it had around 80k on the original clock, it also says exempt b.c a new dash cluster was installed with the previous owner. Please feel free to give me a call with any questions on the car. This 944 is certainly a good example of the 944 turbo model, and I am open to reasonable offers. I’m sure I’ve forgotten a few items and would be happy to further discuss the car. Thanks. The Car has got to GO, HIGH BID WINS!!! 201-230-0476 – Sam On May-13-12 at 18:46:42 PDT, seller added the following information: *** Bids will be canceled with users that have a feedback score of less than a count of 10, and do not communicate or call to talk about the car.
