I am a licensed dealer in Ohio and am required to collect sales tax for the states listed below, not any others. Buyer must show proof of state of residence. The rate of tax to apply is 6 percent. Calculate the other state price (taking into account the above adjustments, such as a trade-in allowance for the purchase of a used car) and apply the rate of tax as listed in the chart above. Collect from the customer the lesser of the two amounts. Chad On May-06-12 at 19:27:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Up for sale is a running driving VW Dune Buggy. Its would best be considered a project as it has two issues that make it shaky to drive. The first is the carburetor needs work, the second is the shifter linkeage needs tightened. I bought this car last winter after sitting in dry storage for 15 years. It was easy enough to get running again as I replaced some brake lines, the brake master cylinder, gave it a tune up, new electric choke, and new fuel pump. I have been driving this car around town and on the back roads at 55mph but would suggest fixing the two issues prior to driving this daily. The Buggy starts instantly and accelerates from a stop fine, but when shifting from first to second, or second to third gear there is slight hesitation for a 1/2 second and than normal accleration. A new carb or rebuilding of this carb would be recommended. The shifting issue makes it hard to determine 1st gear from 4 gear and second gear from reverse and 3rd gear. I suspect it will need new linkages. The transmission itself shifts fine and makes no odd noises. True mileage is unknown. Besides the above issues there are a couple rust holes in the corner of the floors and the horn and wipers do not work. Lights do work but turn signals do not blink. It does leak oil and the carb is running rich as it blows smoke on heavy acceleration. I have a clear Ohio title in my business name for the car. I know I have listed this car to make it sounds bad. Its not, but I want to fully disclose the issues as most folks who sell cars only point out the good parts; expecting the buyer to know what issues to look for. That being said I would have no issue driving this car to the winning buyers location providing they pay for it in advance and assist with my expenses for the trip. This is within reason of course.
