Vehicle Detail
First off I'm selling this car with no reservation price. So I am starting the price at a low number. The body of this car is very solid and the underneath is in great shape as well. Next to no rust at all. I do notice the only thing that has serious rust is underneath the rear bumper which I have 2 pictures of. The rest of the underneath really solid. I have a different engine in the vehicle it's a chevy 350. The vehicle is a great driver and have driven it on long drives over 4 hours. It does not fire up right away but it always starts for me. Also when you first put it into reverse it tends to stop running. But after it's warmed up those problems listed go away. Also a small oil leak. I typically only drive this vehicle once every 2 weeks and for 6 months out of the year it's stored and not run. The interior needs work the door panels are old a long with the seats I believe all original inside? The dash is cracked the stereo is gone and the overhead dome light does not work. There is also a seat belt guide on the drivers side seat that is gone. But even with this said this interior really doesn't need a whole lot. The dash can be fixed with a dash kit. The overhead light and radio can be redone. There is also a turn signal light that doesn't flash inside but it works on the outside both front and back. The middle console is loose but it does have power windows that go up slowly. When the door panels are redone I would redo the window drives and replace the outside door handles. The drivers side one is cracked. I have put a spare tire a jack and a new trunk pad and t top covers in the trunk. The T tops look original function fine but like rest of car it's dated. The air conditioning and heat do not work. The air conditioning part from engine compartment is missing although you see much of it there still intact. The check engine light is on because of the 350 chevy one that has replaced the old one. I was told that they replaced the old engine with this one for performance more horsepower. If your looking for a great driver thats an easy restore this car is for you. And there is no hurry for restoration because you can drive it around now and restore as you go. If I could still afford it I would just fix the dash with repair kit get the stereo and top light working. Then get new black paint and put a 1978 firebird decals on the hood and sides along with the Trans am near front tires and rear fender. This is all you really need to have one cool looking ride. But of course there is always more to do and never ending TLC and upkeep. If you have an further questions please ask I will answer them to the best of my ability. I do stress that remember this car is over 30 years old and time is hell on everything.
