1950 Ford Custom Freshly Rebuilt Flathead V8! Rust Free! Fresh Paint! Great Driver! Want a classic cruiser that's had all of the tough restoration work already done? Here you go!This '50 Ford is one smooth runner! Both the body and the mechanics on this classic are in tip-top shape with tons of time and money already invested in this restoration! This flathead is running an original 6-volt system and it starts with ease! I just removed the car from storage. After dripping a couple ounces of gas in the carb it started on the first try! And it runs GREAT! There's nothing like the smoothness of a Ford flathead! And this beauty has some equipment that is definitely pleasing to the hot rod crowd. The Flathead is equipped with an Offenhauser Intake and topped with a big Holley carburetor. Dual exhausts help this beauty breath and sound oh so nice! The interior resto is nicely underway with fresh upholstery on the seats. The carpet is also fresh. The headliner and visors are original and in remarkably solid shape for a 62-year old car. If a show car is your end goal, replacing these might be desired. This car, in my opinion, is in superb mechanical shape. I have driven the car around locally and feel that it is very reliable. The dash guages work sometimes and not at other times. I believe the wiring connections and grounds just need to be secured. The curtesty lights turn on in the interior when you open the door just like they should. The radio is there but is currently inoperable. I'm not sure if it's hooked up properly. It may need rebuilding. I have been able to get the left turn signals so come on, but not the right. The turn signal cancel is not working. I have had the rear signal lights working, but I don't believe the brake lights are working. I believe the front fenders were replaced before the car was painted. I think the headlights and the turn signal lights need to be hooked up again, as they are not currently operable. I am including brand new front turn signal lenses and bezels. The windshield wipers are not currently hooked up either. The previous owner was an elderly gentleman that invested over $20,000 into the restoration of this vehicle. He was suffering from Alzheimer's disease and had to sell the vehicle before being able to completing the resto. That's when I acquired it. So you are bidding on a vehicle with super low miles on the freshly rebuilt flathead and respray and reupholster. I would estimate less than 100 miles on things since the resto. work. One of the leaf springs in the middle of the stack in back in cracked. It has been clamped together to secure it for now. To me this does not affect the driveability of the car. But one might want to replace it. The speedometer and odometer are operating and appear to be fairly accurate! The horn works! The front and rear bumpers appear to be in original condition. They are solid, but the chrome has pitting and is not "show car" condition. The rear deck in front of the back window looks original and may need refreshing, especially if trying to get the car to show status. This car is equipped with a smooth shifting "three-on-the-tree." It does not have Overdrive. But I'm sure you could add it on. The passenger side window has a crack in the corner (as pictured). It's flat glass, so any glass place could use the old one as a template to cut you a new one easily. New interior foot scuff plates are included and are still in the plastic. The rubber is fresh on this beauty with wide white walls all around. They are Firestone Deluxe Champions (15 inch). They say "Gum-Dipped" on the side, and "4 Ply Polyester." It decided to rain today, so the pictures are not ideal. This will be a great old car for someone. A lot of the hard work has already been done. With the exception of the electrical items needing to be hooked up, I would trust this car to be driven anywhere. You just can't beat the smooth as silk feel of a flathead Ford!
