1982 Alfa Romeo Spider This is my precious 1982 Series 2 Spider named "Sophia." Dire circumstances require I part with her. She has fewer than 85,000 original miles, not bad for a 30 year old gal. NO CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD (If you know Alfas, you know what this means). The '82 was the last of the Series 2 Spiders. It has the distinction of being the first year with the BOSCH electronic fuel injection. The first year with the five spoke alloy wheels, and the LAST year before they began to put the dreaded black spoiler on Spiders. I think this is the pinacle of Spider production, of course, I am prejudiced. This is the second '82 Spider I have owned. If you are familiar with Alfa's, or would like to be an Alfisti, this is the car for you. She's only been shown and driven in club and tour events for the past 5 years. I have installed the following on her during my watch:New clutchNew master cylinderNew radiatorNew distributorNew spark club wiresNew Yellow Koni's on all four corners She has been meticulously maintained. There are a few items to include in the interest of full disclosure.Exhaust system. The entire thing should be replaced. Texas does not require classic vehicles to pass inspection. I believe you will need to replace the exhaust system to pass in a state that does not have similar rules.Rear bumper. Former owner caught it on something. It is bent slightly (see photo)Dimple in hood. This isn't really noticeable, but if you are a Virgo like me, you'll notice.Upholstery. She's 30, she's see the sun, the rain. Time for new seat covers. You can buy them from a number of online sources.Low reserve, sold AS IS, WITH ALL FAULTS. She is thirty years old. She's sassy, she takes off, she'll get you where you are going, as a daily driver, or for fun. Invest a little money and she'll be your trailer queen. SHe has a period correct stereo that takes a cassette adapter. I play all of my iTunes songs on her, with the top down and wind in my hair. I saw THE GRADUATE with Dustin Hoffman as a young man, and fell in love with Alfa Romeo. Where ever I take Sophia, I usually get a small crowd and a lot of questions. IT's just that kind of car.
