NO RESERVEIt's time for this rare truck to move on to someone new. I hate to see it go because it is a really fun truck that gets lots of attention going down the road. This is an awesome, super solid, 1968 GMC 2500 4x4 long bed. These trucks are super hard to come by and whoever ends up with her better be ready to wave at people going down the road because you get LOTS of thumbs up when you drive this truck around town. Judging from the body the truck looks like it has spent it's whole life in the desert because it is just unbelievably solid. I was told that I am the third owner. They told me that the original owner lived in Overton, NV where the truck spent most of it's life. The second owner only had it for about six months and then I got it. The truck runs and drives better than any old truck I've driven. You can go down the highway at 65 mph and let go of the steering wheel and it just keeps cruising straight as an arrow. It doesn't have a bunch of squeaks, rattles, or any of that. The four wheel drive works perfect and the gears match the rear so you can actually use it if you need to. The interior is nice, it was redone just a couple of years ago and it doesn't have any rips or tears or anything. There are some light scratches in the paint on the interior and the steering wheel has some cracking. The tachometer and temperature gauge are both currently not working. I'm not sure why but I was told they just had a bad wire. The radio is an aftermarket radio that doesn't work either but the dash is still original and was NOT cut to put the radio in. The truck looks like it was painted probably fifteen or twenty years ago. I think it spent a lot of time on the dirt roads in Overton because it does have a lot of little chips and scratches. It's definitely not ready for a show but you won't be embarrassed by any means to drive it around town. It's just an old paint job. The bed is actually pretty straight as well but somebody looks like they hauled a lot of paint back there because there are a lot of drips and spills. I think it is all just water based paint though because I tried to get a little bit of it off and it came off pretty easy, I just haven't had the time to try and do anymore. It's got two dents that would need some attention, the one is shown in the pictures by the bumper on the passenger side. It happened before I got the truck so I'm not sure what happened but the picture shows it pretty well. The other dent is small and I could not get it to show up in a picture but it is on the hood of the truck on the passenger side. The truck is also missing two trim pieces in the pictures but they just came in on Friday and they will go with the truck (the driver side tail light trim piece and the passenger side rear bed trim piece just above the dent). So Here's the rundown on this rare collectible:1968 GMC K20 4x4 long bedOriginal rebuilt 327ci small block Original rebuilt 4 speed manual trans8 Lug heavy duty axlesHolley high rise intakeEdelbrock CarbNew AC Delco Distributor with MSD Plug wiresNew Interstate batteryAlternator is about 1 year old4 core radiator with flex fanNew flowmaster dual exhaust with chrome tips (sounds really good!)New weather stripping in the doors4 new shocksThe truck has two auxiliary gas tanks that I've never used hidden under the bed, they are completely drained but are totally functional if you just hook up the "T" piece in the gas line. This truck was the previous owners daily driver. It could easily be driven as you restore it, used as a unique daily driver, or just bought to be restored and added to someone's rare car collection. It is NOT a show truck at this point, but it is a very solid, very dependable, truck that hasn't been messed with a ton, and isn't missing a bunch or all cut up. It's in solid original condition.
