Vehicle Detail
This is a 2001 Audi Allroad that I purchased as a certified pre-owned Audi in June 2004 with 51000 miles. The current mileage is 151,000 miles. It was serviced at an Audi dealership up until about 100,000 miles at which point I had it serviced at a local garage. During my ownership it has been quite reliable bar the usual suspension issues. I have had two front air bags replaced and it is on its third air compressor, the second air compressor lasted a little under a year and was replaced under warranty. At present the compressor does not engage, I do not believe the compressor is at fault since it was quiet and running fine until it no longer engaged. The car is at level 1 at the moment and has been sitting for 3 weeks. The car has not settled onto its bump stops as the bags are not leaking. Upon starting the car it is a minute or two before the suspension light in the dash pod turns on. The engine/transmission are fine, although the check engine light comes on periodically before turning itself off. The engine does leak some oil which I understand is typical for this generation of engine. It leaks approximately 1 quart between service intervals. All the power accessories work fine : windows, heated seats, locks, radio cd player etc. The navigation system works, but has old cd's and the dashboard LED display dims after a few miles. The interior overall is in great condition with only a small hole in drivers side mat where my heel rests. Exterior the car has a dent in the drivers side rear door from when a car reversed into the car when it was parked. There is also a small chip in the windscreen that has been present for the past 5 years, and a chip in the passenger side rear light cluster. The headlights (xenon) have faded covers, and the GPS aerial was loose so I removed it, the nav system still works fine though. There are also various nicks around the grey trim on the wheel arches. The wheels and tires are fine. Overall the car drives and handles well the heat a/c work perfectly, with only the suspension fault needing addressing. None of the differentials leak and the inner tie rod ends were recently replaced.
