Vehicle Detail
For Sale: You are bidding on a 1977 MGB convertible. This car has been in my family since 1989 where I purchased this car at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. In summer 1991, me and this car moved to central Iowa and have been here ever since. Garage stored and kept under car cover. Four cylinder engine, four speed manual transmission. Car runs great and brakes work well. No radio but speakers in both doors. I am a non-smoker and no one has smoked in this car. New carpet, seat foams, headrests, top, tonneau (see photos for each). Floorpans and door skins replaced in late-1990's just before car was professionally repainted and engine professionally rebuilt. Weber 32/36 DGAV double barrel downdraft carb. Exhaust headers; no catalytic convert nor smog equipment (no air pump nor carbon cannister) which was removed before I bought car in 1989. Electronic ignition (no points), new electronic fuel pump (again, no points), new defroster/heater core, new master clutch cyliner, rubber brake lines replaced and entire hydraulic system bled. Recent carb tuneup; car "purrs" at idle @ 700 RPM. Beautiful and neat little car but prefers an owner that is not afraid to turn a wrench or make minor adjustments here and there. If you have questions about this car contact me through eBay and I will do my best to respond. THANKS! Known problems: Passenger side window track needs adjustment as window needs assistance with other hand when rolling it up. Speedometer seems to indicate approx 5 mph faster than car is going at 35 mph (i.e. it shows 40 mph). (Not sure how to fix this.)Dash pad is cracked (see photo). There is a paint crack showing on hood of car (see photo)When body shop mounted the mirrors after replacing the door skins, the mirrors were mounted where they barely interfere with the vent windows opening/closing.Rubber glazing from windshield wipers on driver side (see photo) Payment: Within 24 hours of auction close the winning bidder must post a $500.00 deposit using PayPal. The remaining balance of the winning bid must be paid either through a bank wire transfer or through a certified bank draft and must be received within 5 days following auction close. Vehicle will be released when funds are cleared. Shipping: All shipping and handling charges are the responsibility of the buyer. The seller will be available to work with any buyer selected shipper to deliver the automobile. Vehicle must be picked up within 10 days of clear payment, unless other arrangements are made.
