Vehicle Detail
1971 Dodge Challenger Selling My 1971 Dodge Challenger Here's a chance to own a great classic muscle car that you won't be affraid to drive down the road. This car started it's life out as a 318 car, so no it is not numbers matching and no it's not in show condition. It's a great 20 and 20 car that's fun to drive and gets a lot of attention. Specs- Built 340 balanced 40 over 5 Speed Tremec T/5 Transmission 850 cfm Demon Carb 10 1/2 to 1 compression Steel Crank X heads Weland 7545 Aluminum radiator with electric fan MSD ignition Chrome year one pulleys Chrome alternator New Duralast Battery Ram Air hood Spooled rear end Side markers and gas filler filled in Billet grill Custom Interior 17" rims with near new tires Front turn signals in bumper Hemi Wing and front spoiler The only reason I'm selling this car is to have funds for my 68' Camaro project, otherwise I'd love to keep this thing. The motor sounds like it's going to eat someone for lunch and the 5 speed is butter smooth. The body lines are straight and there is little to no rust in the car. The floor pans are solid(no rust), the quarters were new 7 years ago so they are solid. The only rust is a small spot on the passenger rear quarter under the paint (you can see in the photos below) and some surface rust on the top of the trunk pan. I also have the original rally wheels and tires that will go with the car. Okay so that is all the wonderful things about the car. But since I'm not a scammer like some of the other sellers on here, I'd like to let you know the bad as well. The carb needs to be rebuilt or replaced as it leaks in a couple spots. The alternator doesn't charge the battery as quickly as it should so I'm sure it's going bad. The paint is 7-8 years old and although it looks great and shines from 20 feet away, there are some chips and scratches in it. I tried to show as many in the pics below. There is also a 3" crack in the paint on the roof on the passengers side near the windshield. The HVAC system and original radio were taken out by the previous owner and replaced with toggle switches for the ignition, fan, and lights. I guess he was going to try and drag race it at one point. The dash pad is in bad shape, but I have a brand new one I will include. The headliner doesn't sag, but it wasn't installed very well. I can't get the tach to work??? All this being said, I'm not trying to scare you away, just trying to be honest. This car gets a lot of attention everywhere it goes.
