Vehicle Detail

The car is being re-listed because the person who won this car 2 days ago could not come up with the funds he had bid. I am making the car available again so please only bid if you have funds available now to purchase the car. 1986 Fiero GT with 2007 Finale Body Kit You don’t see these for sale very often at all This car draws a crowd! Considering a Corvette or Muscle Car 100% Finished and Ready to Drive and Show! This car is 100% complete and is in no way a project car. The car came to be as it is today in stages… First, in late 1999 a stock California rust free 1986 Fiero GT got an engine conversion to a 3.8L Super Charged II V-6 and a 4t65-E HD 4 speed automatic transmission. This conversion was done by Ace Engineering (pioneers in engine swaps on Fieros). The work was completed in early 2000. Ace Engineering installed a GM test cell motor and transmission from a 1997 Bonneville SSEi that had zero miles on it. The car was certified emission legal for California. The emission label is located on the driver’s door pillar and can be seen in the pictures of the car. This engine/transmission combination had been running trouble free in this car for over 25,000 miles before the body conversion was done and has been driven over 7500 miles with the new body conversion. If any parts are needed for the engine or transmission you merely need to buy them for a 1997 Bonneville with the super charged V-6 engine. These parts are available at nearly any auto parts store. Parts for the body can be purchased from V-8 Archie www.v8archie.com should you ever need body panels, rear glass, head lights (they are from a 1999 Dodge Stratus) or tail lights Next, the body conversion… This car was chosen to get the body kit because it had the big motor and had been proven reliable for over 7 years and 25000+ miles. In 2007 a Finale Body Kit was purchased from V-8 Archie in the Chicago area. The conversion was done by a grandfather and grandson over about a 9 month period and about 1000 hours. Stock Fiero side view mirrors were adapted and fitted to the Finale door skins. The body was painted with a Pearl – Candy Sparklescent color. First a white sealer was sprayed, followed with a Semi-Opaque Flame Red and finished with the top color sparklescent “Rock Star Red”. Ghost flames were painted on the hood using a red/gold metallic paint and this was all buried under a heavy does of clear. If more paint is needed a company called Auto-Air Colors custom automotive paint is the source. You can check out the different colors offered by this company at www.dixieart.com and then click on the Auto Air Colors tab. The car has been driven for several thousand miles now with the new body. The wheels were just updated and new tires installed less than 1000 miles ago. The interior is in very good condition and is basically stock. It does have a brand new custom steering wheel installed but I don’t have a picture of it. It is an Italian brand that is black and red leather to match the car. The interior pictures I have show an old MOMO steering wheel… That is no longer in the car. The driving lights are operated remotely by a controller mounted next to the heater and a/c controls. There is also a larger rear view mirror installed in place of the flimsy original one. The car’s stereo system consists of a Pioneer “Super Tuner III” and a “Pyle Driver” amplifier. I am not sure what the speakers are but it can play music much louder than I want to hear it. The car has a “Prestige” alarm system with remote door lock operation. A new battery was installed in November of 2009 and a battery maintainer is hard wired in so the battery’s power can be maintained by just plugging the charger into any wall socket. I have found this to be a very handy thing on cars that are not driven every day. Battery maintainers also ad to the life of any car’s battery and I highly recommend their use. The car also has a custom exhaust system that is 50 States legal. The car is fitted with exhaust headers, high flow converters and a custom made muffler with custom tail pipes. It has a wonderful sound but is not overly noisy inside the car, with the windows up. The engine sets under glass which looks really cool! The engine compartment and passenger compartment are separated by the original rear glass of the Fiero. The car is fitted with rear coil-over shocks in place of the original struts and the ride height is adjustable. Overall the car really needs nothing and is ready to drive and show. 1.
