This auction is for a 1961 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 Convertible. At the moment it is in project form but a nice project to do! You rarely see these cars come availble as most of them are done and asking the big money. This is the condition we recieved the car in and will discribe it to the best of our ability. This is one you can do as original or resto mod. I know of a couple of the prior owners and basically the car has been in storage since their ownership. The engine is a 394 V-8 a year or so older than the car. I wanted to make sure that it ran so I installed an alternative fuel source, cleaned the points and contacts and it fired up. The exhaust had all kinds of rodents nest in it but once it cleared out it was fine. The solonoid on the starter was acting up intermittently. I got it to fire up after tapping the solonoid and drove it out to the spot for pictures. Once I got the pictures I couldnt get the solonoid to engage again. So you are going to need one of those to start with. I did pull the wheels and the brake shoes and hardware look fine but I did not get into bleeding them. So you will need to do the brakes. Exhaust looks fairly new, needing only the tail pipe. As you can see the interior needs to be totally done. Seats are dry cracked and ripped. I do have the door panels but they are only good for patterns. The top bows are in excellent shape, missing the material. I do have a brand new in the box white top and back window that will be included. I also have some new front end parts that were in boxes along with all the moldings, gas pedal, sun visors, front parking light bezels, door sill plates, screws, nuts and bolts and clips in baggies that were taken off the car. This is all included. The body is really in exceptional shape for the year. It is still wearing all its original paint and quite solid. There is a little rust around the rear dog legs and back lower quarters but VERY fixable! There are some scrapes and dents but easily repaired. I took a picture of what there was for rust spots on the floor pan. Front pans very repairable, rear ones should be replaced. Under the back seat area is all solid. Trunk is all solid. Fenders and doors, inner and outer rockers, trunk lid etc all nice and solid. Frame and braces are nice and solid. All windows roll up and down, glass is all good, window frames in nice shape. The bumpers are good solid cores to rechrome as they have surface pitting. Power top motor and dash pad are the only 2 things I see missing. Also this was a factory A/C car. I have a good clear title and proper dealer transfer paperwork for a smooth transaction. Please bid only if you are serious and intend to follow through with the sale.
