Vehicle Detail

This is one of the very rare Endura optioned 1972 LeMans station wagons that were produced at the factory. This is not a wagon that has just had a GTO front clip added, it came this way and I have the build sheet that shows this. My understanding is that there were probably less than a few hundred of these Endura wagons made in 1971 and 1972. This car is in nice condition but does need some minor rust repair around the rear wheels wells, the bottom of the tail gate and the leading edge of the hood. There is also a very little bit of rust in the spare tire well that is in the passenger side quarter panel. There are also some dents along the drivers side that will need fixed. Please see all the attached pictures for details (but feel free to email should you want more. Other than the above mentioned rust areas, I am not aware of any other rust. The floors are very nice and I see no rust in them (again, please see pics.). From what I can tell, most of the paint on the car is original. It appears that the left front fender, left front door and the headlamp assemblies were repainted at some time. I have checked the metal on these parts with a magnet and can’t find any traces of filler (though I can’t guarantee there isn’t any). This wagon was originally optioned with a 350 CID 2BBL engine but that has been swapped in favor of a 1970 455CID 4BBL. The car starts, runs fine, idles fine and seems to drive just fine, but admittedly, I have never licensed the car during the time I have owned it and thus have never put any real mileage on it (thus I would not recommend driving this car home - unless it‘s a short distance). The car starts right up with no issues or noises and runs nice and quiet. The previous owner told me there is probably close to 150K miles on the engine in the car. The transmission is automatic and I have no idea if it has ever been changed, rebuilt, etc. I suspect the front suspension will need to be rebuilt as it makes a little noise in turns. At some point someone switched the front seat out for a 60/40 spilt bench seat. Though not installed, I do have an original wagon bench seat (that is even gold), however it came from a 1970 LeMans wagon so the upholstery pattern is not quite the same. This seat will be included with the sale of the car. The car was originally optioned with A/C but it is not working (there is no compressor). It does have the dual action tail gate, meaning it both folds down and swings to the side. The handle that opens the gate to make it swing sideways is currently not on the car but I have it. Please also note the passenger side rear door is locked and I can't seem to get it unlocked. The car is optioned with power disc brakes as well as a tilt steering column. Please note the “tilt” part of the column is a bit sloppy but not real bad (not bad enough you couldn’t drive it this way). Originally the car had Rally II wheels. They were missing when I purchased the car. It currently has a full set of 15” Trans Am 8” WS6 snowflake wheels (which actually don’t look too bad on the car). Original options listed on the build sheet (though all may no longer be present unless stated prior) were: 3 point seat belts Tinted windshield Power tail gate window Front and rear mats Body side molding Side window moldings Recessed wipers Air conditioning Out side remote rear view mirror Right hand vanity mirror Front disc brakes 350 2 bbl engine Auto trans Deluxe steering wheel Title steering wheel Power steering Rally II wheels (14”) H78x14 white wall tires Wheel trim rings T41 appearance group (Note: this is the Endura option). Dual horns Push button AM radio Luggage carrier As you can see in the pictures, I have the original build sheet that was found in the car as well as the original protecto-plate. The car was purchased new in Idaho Falls, Idaho where it was till the early 1990’s. Then is went to St. George, Utah till I purchased it about 3 years ago. I also have a bunch of receipts for the car dating back to the late 1980’s. The car was originally sold through Hart Pontiac - Cadillac located at 1363 North Holmes Ave, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83401. If you have any questions about the car, please ask before bidding. If you need time to come and get the car, I will store the car inside for one month for free and I can continue to store the car inside for up to a year for $50 a month storage. If you elect to have me store the car beyond the first month, storage must be paid in advance for each month. Winning bidder is required to submit a $500.00 deposit via paypal within 48 hours of the end of the auction. The balance will be due within 10 days of auctions close (even if the car has not been picked up) unless other arrangements are made in advance of the auctions close. Payment must be in verified funds before car will be released. If the payment is anything other than cash, the payment will need to clear the bank before the car will be released. If you are going to need to have the car shipped, I have no problem with suggesting a transport company and helping them get the car loaded and on it’s way to you. I am in an easily accessible location for the shipper to access the car. I also have a friend that delivers cars on his personal flatbed trailer and depending on where you live, he might be willing to haul the car for you - generally just the wester half of the USA (I can get a quote for you if needed). If you would like to come look at the car or have a 3rd party come look at the car before bidding, feel free to contact me to make the arrangements. Please look the pictures over carefully and make your own judgment as to the condition of the car. I have tried my best to accurately describe and post pictures that explain the cars condition. If you have questions, please ask. I do have a clear Utah title for the car. I am not interested in any trades. Please note my 100% feedback rating after being on eBay for almost 15 years. Please remember, if you have questions or need additional pictures, PLEASE ASK.
