1948 Willy's Jeep CJ2 Flat Fender Jeep The Jeep CJ2 followed the CJ1 and is one of the first post war civilian Jeeps. These was marketed as a "work vehicle" especially for farms, ranches, and construction work. CJ2's are rare finds and this 1948 is close to original condition. The only reason we are selling this vehicle is that we are downsizing. This is one of those many projects that there just isn't time to finish. Last registered in 1984; last driven in 1997. Since that time, it has been stored outside under a tarp in the Hill Country of Texas. It has a clear title. At some point in the past, a previous owner used this as a hunting jeep, installing a very well built tow bar, a massive front cow catcher/grille protector, a large back seat, tow hitch, CB, and rifle rack. There is a small collection of NIB spare parts. There is a spare tire. It's a little rough in the body, but all the parts are there, including the highly prized, original "Go Devil" engine. The transmission shifts, the transfer case levers move, the wheels turn, etc. The retread tires put on in 1997 have rotted so you will need a trailer to take this home. It would be a crime to part this out, as there are so few of these left in original condition. You can pick this up just outside of Kerrville, TX or we can work out delivery options with you. You must leave a $250 deposit within three days of the close of the auction or we will relist.
