Vehicle Detail
I bought this bike years ago, from an ad on eBay. I traveled eight hours to pick it up. The ad said that it ran when it was put away a couple years before I picked it up and that it had good strong spark still. When I got there, it turned out that I grew up with the guy that was selling it. So I took his word for it. He took it in as a down payment for a scooter that he was selling in his shop. I did get the bike running after putting some money into it. But it's smoked really bad. Now starts what I did to it to get to the point that it is today. One is very hard to get parts for this bike because it is 30 years old and the model of it. I know a guy who has been in business for a very long time in his motorcycle shop, and I asked him to help me rebuild this bike. We started with everything. It has a totally redone head with valves and cam and valve guides and the timing chain, then we boarded out put in a new piston rings, Rod, crank shaft all new gaskets brand-new carburetor ,battery, rear tire, rear blinkers, morrors, a rocker switch for the lights on the bike, new petcock for the fuel tank, let's keep in mind that each one of these parts was very expensive before the head was even rebuilt it was over $1100 and I had to find one. The carburetor was $500 brand-new. Once I found that, another $900 for the piston and the crankshaft which is all one unit. I do have most of the receipts, especially for the labor which was over $900. R&R cycle is a very well respected motorcycle shop in the area. I had them do work for me that I could not do myself. The bike does have a compression release on the kickstart. And believe me there is a lot of compression. The bike is red and has a Prolink mono shock, in its day This was top-of-the-line. Now, the bike is a little heavy, because it's big and it's tall I am 5 foot 10, and I can barely touched the ground on both sides. I am also lack the age where I am not going to kickstart this bike. And there is no electric starter for this model. This old. It's a nice antique it has some cosmetic where and there is a 3to4in. Dent in the gas tank where it fell over one time, that's an easy fix. Has not been started in about two years, but I did put stable in the tank, and there is brand-new oil in the motor and it's been in the garage. The whole time, it has a bout 50 miles on the motor. Since rebuild. So it's not even broken in yet. Like I said, lots of compression. Buyer is responsible for shipping and pick up send a truck come in person. I'm not taken the bike anywhere. You must come and get it.On Mar-20-12 at 13:39:39 PDT, seller added the following information:
