Vehicle Detail
Straight clean original and unrestored 1981 Camaro recently inherited from family member. The car is in great unrestored condition and the total miles are unknown as the speedometer is inoperable. May be close to the 53k miles shown on the speedometer. Interior is all there and in good shape except the carpet and headliner which have been removed. Center console lid is there but hinge is broken and the power windows work but are very slow. The only rust anywhere on the car is under the battery and some surface rust on the underside of the roof. The floorboards are solid and look great from the inside and outside. It runs and drives great and is extremely solid on the road. It has some exhaust leaks near the manifolds and could probably use a new exhaust system. Air induction flap on hood is not working. Transmission and clutch are in good shape with no grinding. Steering is very tight for a 30 year old car. I am the third owner and I've only had it a few months and have too many things going on in my life which aren't allowing me to keep it. Perfect candidate for a restoration project. Any questions please call me at 925 - 212 - 6380. Title is clear but it does have some backfees due as it hasnt been registered for two years in california. Shouldn't be a problem if car is sold out of state. Thank you for looking. On Mar-15-12 at 12:27:39 PDT, seller added the following information: Please contact me for more pics or to set up an appointment to look at the car before bidding as I want everyone to know what they are buying before bidding. As of last night I noticed the turn signals are inoperative. All other lights work. To answer other questions that have been asked: the car has the original paint but it is a bit faded. It would clean up very nice with a waxing. I think there are only two small not paint damaging dings on the entire car which can probably massaged out easily. It is very straight and has never been repainted or in any accidents. The front bumper is in very good shape and has only a small tear at the very lower tip of it. The car spent most of its life under a carport in northern California. Also the car does still have the working reverse lockout feature for the ignition/steering column. With a little TLC this car could easily clean up nicely. On Mar-19-12 at 11:04:56 PDT, seller added the following information: The wheels look like they have been powdercoated at one time only because of how they cleaned up so well. This was not done by me. I haven't had any work done on the car. Yes it does need a tune up and no I wouldn't feel comfortable driving it across the country. The car made a 200 mile trip with no problems in 85* F heat with no overheating but a major tune up should be done soon. The car has been in Northern California for her entire life and in the family for more than the last 20 years. As far as I know the engine is in fact a 5.7 liter 350 ci. I have the original ashtray in the trunk and the missing support above the battery as well. There is no rust or rot on the trunk lid or inside the trunk. Again there is no rot on this car except under the battery on the tray it sits on, only LIGHT surface rust otherwise. ThanksOn Mar-19-12 at 21:18:38 PDT, seller added the following information: FYI From this point forward bidders with zero feedback must first contact me via telephone (925) 212 - 6380 before placing a bid. Zero feedback buyers are excluded from this auction otherwise. Car is going to be sold to the highest bidder and I will not end the auction early at this point. I am hoping this will give everybody a fair chance to be the new owner of the car. Thank you for understanding
