Vehicle Detail
This is a completely original 1974 CB450 K7 with 3013 miles on it. It had been put away in a garage for 35 years ago and just sat there. It is in good condition and is running and sounds good with good compression. I bought if from the original owner. I’ve cleaned it up quite a bit but still could use more. There are some minor repairs that need to be done. You can see where the bike had hit or dropped on something. The throttle side of the handlebars is bent up by about an inch or so. The turn signal on the same side had pressed in the chrome support for the head light and has bent it, you can see in the picture. There is no damage to the forks, just the chrome that can easily be replaced. Also, the bottom of the tachometer is scuffed from the same incident. The Good: · I’ve thoroughly cleaned and rebuilt both carbs and installed new gaskets · New battery · New headlight · Petcock cleaned and put in new O-ring · All electrical is working with the exception listed below · Kick start works · New fuel lines & Oil · Over-all chrome is in decent shape, there is pitting · Inside of gas tank is in great condition, there was no scaling, only a small dark ring from when the tank was put away with very little fuel in it · Cleaned points, checked gap and put in new plugs · Clutch and rear brakes seem to be working fine · Aside from some small dents the paint looks good · Exhaust is in really good shape besides a little scuffing · Seat is in great shape except for a small ½” tear on the left side that you can see in the picture. If you lift the seat you can see a couple of small tears on the bottom edge of the seat. · Clear title The Bad: · The master cylinder needs a rebuild kit. I’ve disassembled the master cylinder and cleaned it thoroughly and verified that brake fluid makes it down to the caliper, hoping a cleaning would do the trick, but the rubber in check valve is deteriorated. · The speedometer only goes up to 20mph, not sure if it’s a cable issue or what. The odometer is working properly. · All turn signals are kind of banged up, but cheap to replace. · Tires are original so you’d want to put new ones on. · Fuel tank has a descent sized dent on right lower side but looks like it could be pushed out. Top left has a scratch with a dent as well as some other minor dents on top. Over-all I think it looks pretty good. · Handle bars are bent slightly as mentioned above · The chrome head light supports that go over the forks are bent, should be an easy/inexpensive fix · Tail light lens is cracked · Flashers all light but do not flash (Sticky or bad relay). · On center light counsel, the “high-beam” indicator lamp and the “turn signal” indicator lamps are not working, however the neutral indicating lamp is working. High and low beams of the headlight itself are working. I’ve ridden this bike around my neighborhood for 5 miles and it runs and sounds great. It has really good acceleration. It’s basically a new motor with only 3000 miles on it. I cannot verify anything beyond that. This bike has minor scuffing and rust throughout but is in pretty nice shape over-all.
