Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a 1995 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon. Snowbirds car until 2008 - registered in NH but titled and operated in Florida. Second owner used in Massachusetts but short time in northeast kept this car solid. Absolutely no body rust, and only minor surface rust on the underside as seen in pics (including solid spare tire well.) Loaded up with leather and power everything. Boasting GM's Corvette inspired multiport injected 5.7L LT1 V8 engine and 4L60E transmission, it puts down plenty of power and the 2.93 limited slip rear end (GW9 and G80 build codes) maximizes the traction to the pavement. Trailer preparation "tow package" equipped - car rated to pull 5000 but does not have a hitch installed (despite trailer prep name, these did not come from the factory with hitches.) Delivers consistent 16 in town and 24 highway at 70 mph - this has been my daily driver to the office and back for six weeks and I've worked out the bugs - rear shocks replaced, gasket causing small oil leak fixed, oxygen sensors replaced, headliner replaced. Runs and drives GREAT - get in and drive anywhere. NO RESERVE. Questions? Click "ask seller a question" or call Fred at 315-246-0612. Please allow time for a response as I work 8-5 at a regular job in Charleston. Car available for showing in Mt. Pleasant after 6:30 pm weekdays or any time weekends by appointment. Condition Report ENGINE: Runs on all eight cylinders without smoking, missing or knocking. Engine runs at proper temperature. Newer battery & good charging system. Newer O2 sensors, temp sender. Starts easy, runs STRONG. TRANSMISSION: Performs flawlessly. Engages gears quickly and shifts through all forward gears and reverse with good downshift and torque converter performance. Clean fluid with no burn odors. Shifts perfectly. Has a remanufactured sticker on it, but I do not have records to know when it was rebuilt. EXTERIOR: Body: Body is very straight with only a couple small dings - one on the right quarterpanel as seen in pics, one low on right rear door not pictured close up but can be seen in down the side shot. No body rust, no bondo. Paint: Paint is very nice with a handful of normal rock chips and scratches. Consistent with age but still nice and shiny. Wood: Side paneling is in very nice shape on the driver's side, and applique is still shiny, but there are some hairline cracks in it on the passenger side, seen in the closeup, but not seen at 5 feet off. Upper fake wood molding sanded down and painted tan so you never have to worry about that peeling again. Other: Lower chrome trim has some minor dings and the front bumper has a few as seen in pics. No cracks or tears in the plastic bumpers. Rubber side trim is present. Glass is all nice. Solid undercarriage and frame with some very minor surface rust as seen in pics - clearly not driven regularly in northeastern winters. Two hubcaps were stolen, and it needed front tires anyway, so I added the aluminum Cadillac Brougham wheels (same size as the Roadmaster) I brought with me from Seattle, and they're in great shape and (I think) look good on the car. INTERIOR: Interior of the car is nice. Has some minor driver's seat wear, and the sunvisors have some sun damage, but all else is in very nice shape. Carpets are nice and clean, dash has no cracks, door panels are in good shape with a couple extra retaining screws. Headliner is new. Steering wheel is nice with nice dye but a few cracks. Serious non-smoker's car - all the ashtrays have been removed and discarded (if you smoke, I'll take one out of one of my other 3 Roadmaster wagons.) Very nice interior overall, better than most with these miles. ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work (lights, button horn, wipers, etc.) The only electrical stuff that doesn't work is the PassKey (chip in the key) has been disabled, automatic leveling (has standard rear shocks) and the power antenna does not work. All the rest of the power stuff works properly - power windows, power locks, dual power seats, hot heat and cold A/C, tilt, cruise, am/fm cassette, rear window release, keyless entry, intermittent wipers, rear wiper and rear defroster all work properly. A/C compressor, dryer, and condenser are newer - I don't have the receipts, but the parts are good aftermarket units and look to be about 2 years old. DRIVEABILITY: Drives out extremely well. Steering is tight, suspension tight, and alignment is good. Brakes work great with newer shoes and rear wheel cylinders. Tires have about 60% tread remaining front, 30% rear. Solid exhaust pipes and mufflers with no leaks - factory stainless steel exhaust stays solid. Limited slip works properly and rear end is quiet. Check engine light is not lit (except at start up as it should.) GREAT driving car - hop in and drive anywhere. Short version terms: Small deposit as listed (but fast) by overnight mail or Paypal within 24 hours. Balance due in 5 days by cash in person, wire transfer, or Wells Fargo cashier's check. Will meet you at location or your transporter by appointment. No administrative fee on this auction. Any other costs - tax, emissions inspection, registration, etc. are buyer's responsibility - see full terms. 30 days to pick up. Temporary tags available at local license bureau. WILL PICK YOU UP AT THE CHARLESTON, SC INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT weekday evenings or any time weekends. Inspections are encouraged, but by appointment only - please email or call. Note that pickup times are by appointment only also - just call! Prepaid vehicles scheduled for transport can be picked up any time with at least 24 business hours' notice - have your driver call me. I'm happy to drive the car to a nearby large parking lot for easier truck loading.
