Terms & Conditions Please read through all of the terms and conditions of this sale – it is well worth your time even if they are long and through. These terms have been revised and adjusted based on what we have learned in nearly a decade of selling vehicles on eBay. These conditions are there to protect both the seller and buyer and to let you know what to expect from this sale. We are not responsible for anything that you chose not to read. We have a regular sales facility complete with office, lot and shop. We are members of the Cumberland Maine Business Association and strive to be a valued member of our community. Although we were founded in 2011, our dealer principal has approximately 10 years of business experience selling vehicles online – and a lifetime of experience around cars, racecars, trucks and equipment. He has sold vehicles to customers all over the world on eBay. We maintain a full website that tells all about our business and us and invite you to check it out. We want you to learn about our business so you know that we are professionals and not a fly-by-night operation. The title will be released to the winning bidder once full payment is received. Due to financial institutions sometimes holding titles, there could be a slight delay in this process of 24-48 hours before you have a title in hand or overnight shipped to you. Rarely will this take any longer. If the buyer is a Maine resident, we will collect a $33 title fee from that buyer and submit that title application to the state on your behalf. All eBay sales include a State of Maine arbitration fee of $1. That is required by law, but we work it into our eBay prices. We do not charge any documentation or preparation fees. We do collect 5% sales tax from Maine residents only. That is a state law. Out of state buyers are responsible for paying sales tax in their home states and localities as required by law. Advance notice of pick-up is requested. We maintain business hours on each weekday and can usually meet you on evenings and Saturdays to show a car or have you pick it up. By law, we are required to be closed for business on Sundays, but if the titlework is completed in advance and you just need to pick up a car on a Sunday, we might be able to make arrangements to have you do so. We try to work with all of our customers based on their needs. If you have different needs for a vehicle, please let us know as we have other cars and trucks in inventory that we could put up for auction and/or list on eBay by request. We also have other vehicles in the process of being prepped for sale and we can always look to find what you are in the market for. We buy our cars at auctions throughout New England and have access to thousands of vehicles out there, so it never hurts to ask. Please e-mail us any questions. If you are coming in from out of town, we will do our best to pick you up at the Portland, Maine airport (PWM) or the Portland, Maine Amtrak or bus stations. Please just let us know before you book your travel so we can coordinate schedules. We can also recommend local lodging if you are coming in from out of town. There are beaches, lobster pounds, outlet stores, lighthouses and all kinds of tourist attractions within 15 minutes of our dealership, so we recommend making a vacation to the Maine coast part of your car buying experience. We can also work with shippers and even recommend a few shippers who we have heard to have good reputations if you are having a car shipped. A deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours and full payment is required within seven days unless prior arrangements are made. If full payment is not received within that timeframe, your deposit will be forfeited to pay towards our eBay fees and costs to list this item. Your eBay bid is a legally binding contract. Please only bid if you have the intention of following through with your commitment to buy. You are responsible for arranging financing, but we will do our best to work with your financial institution to make everything easy. Most of our cars for sale come with 14-day temporary license plates. These are not available though to Massachusetts residents due to Massachusetts laws. You are responsible for obtaining your own insurance. If a car is being sold as an unsafe vehicle that needs repair work (i.e. a fixer-upper), we will disclose that in the ad and advise you to have it towed or shipped from our dealership. Those cars should not be driven on the roads until they are repaired and properly inspected in your home state. I was one of the first dealers to sell vehicles on eBay and over the past decade, I’ve heard all kinds of excuses where someone’s wife, children, business partner, dog, burglar or pet goldfish has logged onto their account and “accidently” purchased an item. If it is your account, you will be responsible for your accounts. We are reasonable to work with, but cannot incur the costs from someone committing to a purchase and then changing their mind. A $200 non-performance charge will be assessed to any non-paying bidder. This will be in addition to any forfeited deposit. We will use the court system and/or collection agencies to collect that fee. If the legal system is used, we will also charge all legal fees to the non-paying bidder. This is how we make our living and it’s not a game to us. We reserve the right to waive these fees if you have a legit and documented issue that comes up, we are human beings after all, but we are also in business and need to pay our overhead . If a buyer comes to physically see a vehicle and they do not agree with the condition report that we have made, we will work with them to make things right and if they have a valid concern, we will release them from any commitment to buy. The majority of my buyers through the years have told me after the sale that their vehicle was even better than it was described. We strive for that kind of reaction from our customers. We request that vehicles be picked up within seven days of the sale unless other arrangements are made – but we are understanding of travel arrangements and can usually hold a car or relocate it to a storage facility if you ask us to. 2002 Mercury Sable GS four door sedan. 134,500 miles. This car has a sage green/gray exterior with a two-tone beige cloth interior. It has a 3.0-liter V-6 engine and automatic transmission. It is equipped with a center console with floor shifter, alloy wheels, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, power seat, power adjustable pedals, a driver’s side power seat and cruise control. It has an electronic compass in the mirror and rear heat/air conditioning vents as well. It also has an small aftermarket receiver-style trailer hitch and four-pin electrical connector well suited to tow a small utility trailer.
This is a solid and clean car that we purchased at dealer auction and have serviced. It has brand new rocker panels on both sides, which is a common rust area on Sables and Tauruses. This repair was professionally done. This car should turn out to be a reliable and comfortable car for its new owner. This car has passed a tough State of Maine inspection and comes with 14-day temporary plates.
I have personally driven this car for several hundred miles and made a list of observations. This car starts right up and it runs and drives great. The transmission shifts well and does not slip. The steering feels tight and the car tracks well. There are no vibrations while driving. The brakes feel good, there is a slight pulsation at times, but the pads have plenty of life left in them. The parking brake holds the car. The check engine light is not on. The idle is smooth and the car does not run hot. The cruise control works. The stereo sounds great. The power seats and power mirrors work. There appear to be no noticeable leaks.
The tires are sized P215/60R16 and have good tread remaining. The left front has 9/32nds of an inch of tread. The right front has 4/32nds of tread. The left rear has 5/32nds of tread and the right rear has 8/32nds of tread. By comparison, the State of Maine inspection requirement is 2/32nds of tread or greater.
The interior is very clean and well kept up. The dash does not have any cracks, the seats are not torn and the headliner does not sag. There are three small holes in the front passenger seat about the size of the tip of a ballpoint pen. There are no major stains on the carpet. There is some matting on the driver’s side carpet. There are no floormats. The owner’s manual is with the car. The glass is good. The car comes with its mini spare tire and jack.
The body is straight and the paint is in very good condition. I observed no major scratches and only one door ding that was about the size of a nickel. You can see a photo of that in our gallery.
I like to deal in Ford Tauruses and Mercury Sables of this era because they are very reliable and solid cars that can usually be sold at value prices. The cars hold up well and I’ve seen plenty of auctions with well over 200,000 miles on them. Lately, I have seen quite a few selling at dealer auctions for around the price of the reserve on this car – which is already serviced, inspected and gone through. The current Kelley Blue Book value of this car is $4662 and the current NADA book value is $4400. We have priced our reserve well below those numbers.

The title will be released to the winning bidder once full payment is received. Due to financial institutions sometimes holding titles, there could be a slight delay in this process of 24-48 hours before you have a title in hand or overnight shipped to you. Rarely will this take any longer. If the buyer is a Maine resident, we will collect a $33 title fee from that buyer and submit that title application to the state on your behalf. All eBay sales include a State of Maine arbitration fee of $1. That is required by law, but we work it into our eBay prices. We do not charge any documentation or preparation fees. We do collect 5% sales tax from Maine residents only. That is a state law. Out of state buyers are responsible for paying sales tax in their home states and localities as required by law.
Advance notice of pick-up is requested. We maintain business hours on each weekday and can usually meet you on evenings and Saturdays to show a car or have you pick it up. By law, we are required to be closed for business on Sundays, but if the titlework is completed in advance and you just need to pick up a car on a Sunday, we might be able to make arrangements to have you do so. We try to work with all of our customers based on their needs.

If you are coming in from out of town, we will do our best to pick you up at the Portland, Maine airport (PWM) or the Portland, Maine Amtrak or bus stations. Please just let us know before you book your travel so we can coordinate schedules. We can also recommend local lodging if you are coming in from out of town. There are beaches, lobster pounds, outlet stores, lighthouses and all kinds of tourist attractions within 15 minutes of our dealership, so we recommend making a vacation to the Maine coast part of your car buying experience.

Most of our cars for sale come with 14-day temporary license plates. These are not available though to Massachusetts residents due to Massachusetts laws. You are responsible for obtaining your own insurance. If a car is being sold as an unsafe vehicle that needs repair work (i.e. a fixer-upper), we will disclose that in the ad and advise you to have it towed or shipped from our dealership. Those cars should not be driven on the roads until they are repaired and properly inspected in your home state.
I was one of the first dealers to sell vehicles on eBay and over the past decade, I’ve heard all kinds of excuses where someone’s wife, children, business partner, dog, burglar or pet goldfish has logged onto their account and “accidently” purchased an item. If it is your account, you will be responsible for your accounts. We are reasonable to work with, but cannot incur the costs from someone committing to a purchase and then changing their mind. A $200 non-performance charge will be assessed to any non-paying bidder. This will be in addition to any forfeited deposit. We will use the court system and/or collection agencies to collect that fee. If the legal system is used, we will also charge all legal fees to the non-paying bidder. This is how we make our living and it’s not a game to us. We reserve the right to waive these fees if you have a legit and documented issue that comes up, we are human beings after all, but we are also in business and need to pay our overhead .
If a buyer comes to physically see a vehicle and they do not agree with the condition report that we have made, we will work with them to make things right and if they have a valid concern, we will release them from any commitment to buy. The majority of my buyers through the years have told me after the sale that their vehicle was even better than it was described. We strive for that kind of reaction from our customers.
We request that vehicles be picked up within seven days of the sale unless other arrangements are made – but we are understanding of travel arrangements and can usually hold a car or relocate it to a storage facility if you ask us to. We are reasonable to work with.
