Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1974 Dodge Dart Sport Hang 10. If you would like to find out more about the Hang Ten before reading on, you can click here: http://hangtenregistry.com/history.php The Hang Ten Registry has been documenting these cars for well over 10 years now, and only a small amount have surfaced. To find a true low mileage original stripe, paint, interior Hang 10 is fairly hard. I have owned this car for 7 years. It has just under 18,000 Original miles and it is 90% original. I am the 2nd owner of this car which was purchased from the original family. The car was sold new at Bricker Motor Sales in Croswell, MI. The dealer is still open to this day. Body: The car still maintains 80% plus of its original paint with minor work done on the lower part of the car. The striping is original as well as glass, trim, tail light bezels/lights, headlights, parking lights, etc. The bias ply tires and the original wheels come with the car as well as the Rallye wheels you see in the pictures. The front BFG tires are brand new and the rear BFG’s have very limited miles on them and are “like new”. Interior: The interior on the car is near perfect. The most important piece of any Hang 10 is the factory carpet. This carpet is mint and looks the same as the day it left the factory. The seats are original and in fantastic shape. Even sitting in the originals feels different than reproductions. The door panels are beautiful with one small slit on the driver’s side, but that just adds to the originality. The headliner and interior pieces are perfect. The dash is mint with everything working. The rear tail panel cover is original to the car, and has spider cracks around the screws which happened when the dealer put in the undercoating (I have pictures). The console is also in great shape with no pitting like so many of these consoles have. The original spare tire sits untouched since new with jack and cover being the same. The fold down seat carpet is perfect as well. I personally put in a factory correct AM/FM radio. I could not stand listening to AM, so I made the switch. I have the original AM radio and you can have both if you win. Engine: The car is a factory 318 Automatic. Everything under the hood is original minus the oil and filter, heater hoses and fuel pump. The original fuel pump went last year and was replaced. I do have the original if interested. The belts, plugs, wires, etc. are all factory original (WOW). The car was rust proofed at the dealership, so you will notice in the engine pictures all of the fun gooey rust proofing material they used. Would I want that on a restored car? Nope. On an original…Yes! The car runs great with no smoke. Undercarriage: The car sat in a dirt garage for many years before I bought it (I am the 2nd owner). There is no rot, but surface rust in many places. The trunk, floors or frame rails do not need replacing in my opinion and if I owned this car forever I would never change them. The original exhaust will need replacing as it is starting to come apart. The car is still drivable with the current exhaust, but I would recommend replacing it. Paperwork: This car comes with 2 perfect broadcast sheets, warranty card, rust proofing guarantee from dealer, original registration card, ’76 insurance card, original keys, ’75 registration card and window sticker. If the car meets reserve or a price that is agreed on, I will include all of the little things like: Classic 70’s Hang 10 Frisbee, Beach balls framed laminated copies of all the original documentation as well as the story on the vehicle and where it came from originally, license plate with original numbers, 2 carpet surfboards and a few other cool trinkets. I will also burn all the pictures I have on to a CD for the winning bidder. Survivor cars are not for everyone. It takes a special breed to keep them this way. This car is probably not for the everyday driver. It’s a super low mileage Hang 10 that has many original parts and should be treated as such. Please ask any question before bidding. I have perfect feedback and I am completely honest about the car. I would hope anyone interested would be able to inspect the car personally before even thinking of buying it.Thank You for taking the time to look at the car and feel free to ask for any pictures you would like.On Mar-14-12 at 03:13:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Some questions have been asked about picking up the car and a time frame. The car is in my garage and there is no rush to have it picked up. You will have time to arrange a shipper and I will gladly meet them near a place it is safe for them to load up. On Mar-14-12 at 03:17:03 PDT, seller added the following information: The car has met reserve, so at this point I am willing to end the auction early if a nice offer is made. I am a real world car value person, so I am not looking for some wacky figure to sell the car like many sellers do. If anyone would like more pictures, simply send me your email address and I will be glad to send you what I can. Thanks
