CATERHAM SUPER SEVEN TWIN CAM Caterham Cars & Coachworks Ltd. built this Super Seven Twin Cam in late 1978 / early 1979 in their historical workshop “Seven House”, Town End in Caterham up the Hill. The car had been ordered directly by the first owner in Germany. The customer order, the complete build file, the paperwork for the UK export to Germany in July 1979 and the documents regarding the technical approval in Germany have been made available by the Caterham archivist. After the TÜV approval in Germany, the first owner registered the car as a Lotus Super Seven The first road registration was on 02.10.1979 Engine - engine number : SS 33139 EX - engine type : 1600 tall block “Caterham” Twin Cam, assembled by Vegantune - power : 126 bhp at 6.200 rpm - torque : 108 lbs.ft at 5.500 rpm - cylinder head : Lotus Twin Cam Big Valve - block : 711M 6015 BA (strengthened square main bearing caps, oil lip seal, 6 bolt flywheel) - capacity : 1599 cc (81 mm x 77.6 mm) = identical to standard X Flow - compression : 8.5 or 9.5 (?) - camshafts : “Caterham” camshafts to suit 1600 tall block - pistons and con rods : Hepolite pistons with special piston rings and 125.171 mm con rods - flywheel : special flywheel to suit clutch with 110 tooth inertia ring gear Restored in 2005 - 2006 , including rebuilt of the engine This car is located in Belgium : 8600 Diksmuide For more information ; please call Bart 0032475418874 or email info@anglocars.be We can assist in shipping the car worldwide
