Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1956 Cadillac sedan. The car has P/S and P/B. The windows are the crank type, and the seat is not power. The car drives nicely. Transmission shifts properly, and the head-lights, brake lights, turn signals, horn work. Also, the radio plays well. The brakes stop the car as expected, and the exhaust is in good condition. The interior is in nice condition. There are two small that have slight damage. the front seat on the drivers side, and the back seat on the passengers side. The carpet is in very nice condition, and the dash doesn't have any cracking. Even the sill plates have a good shine as you will see in the photos. This is a nice driver quality vehicle, and not a show car. The paint has a good shine, but isn't perfect. You will find places that have been touched up. There are some scratches and dings. The chrome is presentable, but again only driver quality. The car wasn't driven for a year, and the transmission started to develop a leak, but the more the car is driven the less it leaks. The valve cover gaskets have been replaced this week. I feel the car looks better in the photos than it does in person, but that is true for a lot of cars. If you are looking for a car to have fun with, than this could be the one for you. I have provided a great number of photos in this ad. Take a look at all of the pictures I provided, and ask questions before bidding. The car is being sold where is, as is, and doesn't come with any warranty. The cost of shipping is to be paid by the BUYER, and NOT the seller. You will find some explanations with a few of the photos to help clarify what you are seeing in the photo. There are two pieces of chrome missing on both passenger side doors. The thin strips are at the same level as the door handles. I have them, and they will be on the car. I'm waiting for the clips. The drivers side backup lens is on order. Please note the damage on the upholstery. Now I will take you to where most people only want to talk about. The dreaded undercarriage. I have left it as I found it. I didn't spray paint anything, and I didn't spray the area with black undercoating. Here is what i found. The undercarriage is in very nice condition for the most part, with just two areas I will mention. You will see them in the photos. Look at the 3rd. and 4th. photos. This is the rear of the car, and you will notice the right and left side have rust that is contained in about a four inch piece. I did not bother the trunk floor. The 14th. and 15th. photos show floorboard under the passengers side. I have taken 2 different photos of the same spot. If you look at the drivers side, you will see no damage at all. That is the total extent of rust damage that I could find. Rockers look great. You can see the original drain holes. Inner rockers also look very solid. I have forgotten to take the pictures of the trunk pan, but will list them tomorrow. I feel the underside of this car looks very good. If you have questions about this area, please ask. Here is the rear section I wrote about earlier. Here are the 2 photos of the floorboard area on the passengers side mentioned earlier You can see the original black paint where the undercoating came off. On Feb-25-12 at 05:08:24 PST, seller added the following information: I have been asked to reveal the reserve amount. I will assure that is it quite fair as I am realistic in my expectations when it comes to a cars value. That being said, I am not willing to reveal the reserve price as it is not fair to the other bidders. Thanks very much for your interest. On Feb-25-12 at 11:28:27 PST, seller added the following information: As promised I am adding the photos of the trunk. Rather than lift the carpet and boards, I removed everything to see the entire trunk. Please note , I did not find any rust, or rust repair. On Feb-28-12 at 17:39:56 PST, seller added the following information: I listed the photos of the trunk with everything out of it, but forgot to show the photos of the trunk with the interior back in. On Feb-29-12 at 17:27:12 PST, seller added the following information: Today the oil and filter were changed, and a little clean-up was performed. Make the area look a little nicer. On Mar-01-12 at 06:08:12 PST, seller added the following information: HELLO TO EVERYONE.... From the questions I am starting to receive, I can tell that some of my interested buyers are not reading all of the text. I would like to take this time to hit just a few points. I am not giving out the reserve. That isn't fair to all of the interested parties who are looking at this car. BUT.. I will tell you the reserve is under $9,000.00 This is a driver, not a show car. I mentioned in the ad that the car looks better in the photos than it does in person. If you want a car that everyone of your friends and on lookers talk about for years... buy the best... spend more money, but if you want a car to have some fun with, and not feel that you will loose thousand of $$$$ if the market goes south, than this is the car for you. I have friends with cars that they don't want you breathing around when you go near the car. That is great if that is the type of car you want, but for me, not a lot of fun .... Foreign buyers are WELCOME....BUT... the car will have to be paid for via wire transfer, and NOT A CHECK OF ANY TYPE. Nothing personal... just business. All buyers are to pay for shipping... No I will not help with the cost of shipping, but it never hurts to ask. I don't want to discourage questions, but please ask questions that are not already answered in the ad. If you wish to be specific on certain points, that is fine with me. Thanks again for everyones interest.
