DESCRIPTION===PLEASE READ: 1957 Chevrolet CORVETTE. Black with silver coves, red interior. Located in San Diego, California. Frame-off restoration of over three years. Paint, chrome, stainless, interior, all excellent. Totally rebuilt engine; starts and runs great--a few local Sunday miles on it; virtually new. Originally believed to be a fuelie car; now with a new 4bbl carb (Edelbrock) runs excellent! Correct intake and exhaust manifolds, correct generator w/tach cable, distributor, etc., all correct for 1957 Corvette. Engine stamping number: F429EL (Flint, April 27, 1957, fuel injection, 283cid/283hp, manual transmission) Removable hard top only, as originally produced (only 931 hard top only 1957 Corvettes). Car vin in late May, 1957 (unit # xxx4311) Rare, original 4-speed car (only 664 produced); 4-speed was only available after unit #xxx3500; this car is unit #xxx4311. The car now has a replacement GM 4-speed (T-10?) with a Hurst shifter. Block casting date C267 (March 26, 1957) Engine casting 3731548 Heads casting 3731539 K16 (November 1, 1956) Correct exhaust manifolds powder-coated (flat silver; beautiful!) All new wiring throughout. New wide white wall tires (radials). Correct interior color and pattern for 1957; aftermarket steering wheel added later. NOTE: Needs: Wonderbar radio repair, gauge work, & hardtop window plexiglass replacement. This is potentially a VERY high dollar car, especially if taken back to fuel injection! Some undercarriage damage (a long time ago I suppose) was repaired just under the radiator area (see photo); does not seem to affect driving or tracking in any way, but just wanted to point it out.
