Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 I’m selling my 1989 BMW 325ix as a parts car ONLY. It ran fine until 2 weeks ago when the timing belt broke and apparently caused some damage to the internal parts on the top end. Even at that, I’d spend the money to fix it but I not willing to fix it in its present condition. The car was rolled on its roof in 2004 and we fixed it up so it would drive but it sustained lots of cosmetic damage. Virtually every body part has some dents and dings. One door has a Plexiglas window because we couldn’t straighten it to get a rigid glass window to fit tight. All other windows are electric and work fine. After the rollover the care was driven daily to school 2004-2006 and then off and on from 2006 to the present. It has always been a solid commuter car although it never looked very good after the accident. What I'm saying is that is has been a reliable car and has been driven for the past 7-8 years just as it was until the timing belt broke. According to my local mechanic, the engine now needs to be rebuilt (the top end he said). I've decided I'm not in a position to spend the money to fix it although I would if the body was in better shape. So I'm selling it “AS IS” for parts although it could be rebuilt to drive for another 100,000 if you just need a driver not a looker. No rust. No corrosion but lots of dents. Spent most of it's life in Wyoming with no road salt even in the coldest winters. It is an automatic all wheel drive version of the older style BMW 325 (and thus the “ix” designation). Black leather basket weave interior all nice for its age. Heated seats that work fine. Good air conditioner just checked and recharged this past June 2011. Great “honeycomb type” original rims and good tires. Automatic transmission and drive train are all excellent and have never had any issues.Taillights great.After-market radio.The sad part is that it only has 105,805 original miles so maybe it’s worth someone’s time and effort to get it up and running again but definitely worth putting this low mileage motor in a better body once the top end is rebuilt. If not, there are lots and lots of parts to use or sell if you don’t want to fix it to drive. No reserve. High bidder will win. If you have any questions about specific parts, feel free to write.
