1972 Triumph Spitfire Mark IV. I have owned this vehicle for 2 years now, has been my summer commuter on sunny days. The car runs drives and stops. THE GOOD: - New within the last 2 years: Starter, Starter Relay, Water Pump, Radiator Hoses, Clutch Master Cylinder, Tires (Less than 150 miles on the tires.) Radio and Speakers, Carpet, Fuel Filter, Turn Signal Switch, U-Joint at rear differential, Dash cover. - Headlights, tail lights, turn signals and reverse lights all work. - Clutch is in good shape, no slipping or chattering. - Engine runs well, does not smoke THE BAD: - No Top. I do have the soft top frame, just no cloth. - Right rear brake is disconnected. Line is plugged with a bolt. remaining 3 brakes are in good shape. - Parking brake condition is unknown. - Heater lines have been disconnected and looped to bypass the heater core. it was this way when i bought it. - only 8 original lug nuts (2 per wheel) remaining 8 studs have nuts and lockwashers - There is some bondo on the trunk lid and cowl. - Bumpers have dings - Needs exhaust work. - currently has a section of inch and half conduit running from header pipe to muffler. Its not overly loud, I have never been questioned about the noise, but its not quiet either. THE UGLY: - Shes painted Rustoleum Red, its a rough rattle can paint job as you can tell from the pictures. - Seats are OK, drivers side has a rip at a seam, passenger side has what looks like a cigar burn. - Dash is complete, but not pretty, you can see that in the pictures. Over all this car is in usable condition. I would regularly take it on day cruises out the lake and around town. She is definitely not a show car, and probably never will be. But it would be a good car for some one to practice body and paint work on, as well as basic mechanical work. I have a clean and clear Illinois title for the car. I believe the mileage is accurate but make no guarantee that it is. I will not ship, but will help load car at my house if you arrange shipping.
