Thanks for looking! I'm offering my 1979 Lincoln Mark V up for sale. Everywhere I go, I get comments and compliments! She features shiny black paint (see note below) over an immaculate black and burgandy interior. Other than very, very minor wear on edge of driver's seat back, the seats are beautiful. The carpet is like new. All door panels are in excellent shape. I had the transmission re-done about 3 1/2 years ago and included a transmission cooler/radiator in the job. The converted A/C is cold and the heat is hot! The cruise controls works to let the car glide on the road at 65 mph with no problem! The stereo works! The footpedal changes stations just like it did in 33 years ago in 1979! The eight track quadraphonic tape player works somewhat, but has warble in the sound. I have an after-market alarm/engine kill/keyless entry installed. The 4-wheel disc brakes stop the car safely and securely! The rear defogger works (as well as the heated ouside driver mirror)! She burns REGULAR gas and gets about 9 mpg around town and 15 mpg on the road. The seats work (although a little sluggish at times)! I replaced the front tires last year...the rear tires are ok for now. The genuine Lincoln wire-wheel covers still sparkle in the sun. You tap the accelerator twice and she fires right up! I have a Sears DieHard SUV battery in her. She has the 400 engine with the 2 bbl carburetor and the 3 spd. C6 transmission. The headlight doors stay closed as they should when the car is running, but sometimes they open up after the car sits. Start her up, and they close right up! There is a small crack in the dash, but it is hidden by the DashMate* dashboard cover. Oh, and as typical, the Cartier clock looks great but it doesn't work. There are a few things that need attention: The clear coat on the roof in front of the vinyl top is bad...about a 3x3 area...and needs re-spraying. The passenger side power door lock isn't working, but you can work it manually or with the key. I would turn the front rotors as there is some pedal throbbing when stopping from faster speeds. I tightened the valve cover gaskets about 7 years ago and they need tightening again. I had the right manifold tightened about 4 years ago, and I think the left one should be tightened (is it loud...no...but I know it by sound). The right winshield wiper arm broke (there are a pair on eBay right now for purchase at $55 for the pair) The frame and underbody are in excellent shape with no problem with corrosion. There are three dime - quarter size bubbles on the body that could be attended to. I have driven her to Ft. Lauderdale and back three times with no problems (about a 4 hour drive each way)! Please feel free to ask me any questions! I would like a $500 deposit in PayPal by 48 hours after auction, and full balance of payment in cash or money order when picking her up. Selling to the 48 contiguous states only, please...and shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Thanks very much for looking and happy bidding!
