For Sale: 1970 Pontiac Trans Am Ram Air III automatic with it's original numbers matching engine, transmission and 3.55 rear axle. The engine has been rebuilt and has less than 2000 miles on it. The numbers on the car are as follows: Vin.# 228870N108423 Engine code on front of block: YZ Vin.# stamp on front of block: 20N108423 Date code on back of block: C 120(March 12, 1970) Block part number: 9799914 Heads: #12 Carb.: # 7040264 Intake: 9799068 Exhaust Manifold Right: 9799720 Exhaust Manifold Left: 478140 Cam: #068 Rear axle Cox 3.55 posi Transmission: TH400 Engine: This original numbers matching correct Ram Air III engine is the motor this Trans Am was built with and has been professionally rebuilt and has less than 2,000 miles on it. It starts right up and idles nice and smooth and has tons of power and torque. The engine compartment was highly detailed as you can see from the pictures and was restored back as close to original as possible. Please take your time looking at these engine pics to see the detail that went into it. The air cleaner lid is correct and the hood scoop attached to it still has the original flapper door that functions. Interior: The interior is in fantastic shape and has been restored back to original. The carpet, seats, headliner, package tray , dash and door panels are all in great shape. The seats were recovered and the carpet was replaced. The dash is original and near mint. The door panels are very nice but the drivers door panel could use a very minor cosmetic repair. All the seat belts are original and correct and all work properly. Exterior: The car was repainted years ago prior to my ownership and still shows very well. The car has a nice smooth shinny appearance and shows well up close. The rear quarters appear to have had some work done to them. They look fine now but I do believe that they may have been replaced or reworked. The trunk is nice and neat and clean with a space saver spare, jack, and stand. Papers: I do have the PHS documents which will go with the car as well as pictures of the engine out of the car and photos of all the numbers on the block. The car is available for inspection any time so please feel free to come by or to have a friend or professional inspect it for you. The car is being sold as is because cars of this age are. I will assist with transportation but you will have to pay the fee for shipping it. I will require a $2,500 deposit with in 2 business days of ending the auction and the balance with in 10 days.
