Vehicle Detail

1974 super beetle restoration project derailed by cancer. I purchased it for $1150.00, paid another $300.00 to tow it home and invested $500.00 in repairs and upgrades. My loss is your gain. GOOD:: new upholstery kit new carpet kit new emergency brake cable and boot dash cover new Empi single side exhaust am/fm stereo and box speakers behind rear seat some paint (primer) and body fill work done rusted out floor pans replaced with sheet metal JB weld and marine tex Rust stop sprayed and preventative seal inside and out heater boxes inside rebuilt has 3 centerline six inch rims (they need to be cleaned and/or polished and new matching acorn lug nuts to adorn them) door rubber molding replaced (all new) BAD: engine not matched to vehicle. Numbers indicate it is a 1500cc model from a 1969 bug. rebuilt engine runs but still leaks oil (possibly from push rod tubes). It also needs to be timed and carburetor adjusted (has new plugs and wires). brake shoes need to be replaced and brakes bled front end needs rebuilding possible king pens or at least new bearings and bushings only three of the centerline 6 inch rims are available. (I do have two 4 lug pattern rims in a hammered black finish and one not done in spare compartment that needs cleaning and painting). I also have the center oval style hub caps for two of the rims - one is on the car in front right now, the other on floor in back seat floor area. needs new rubber all the way around. Even the spare and extra tire are questionable at best. The four on the ground hold air and can be driven on but not too much tread left. all window rubber seals need to be replaced (the front windshield looks new but the glass is not set properly). This is a beginning restoration project that got derailed by my fight with cancer. There is still much to be done but anyone with talent and time to do so has a good start. Well worth the efforts. If you find the extra centerline , clean and re-lug the rest, you have a solid $800 worth of rims by themselves. If you know bugs and centerline rims, you know this to be true. Since this is a re-list, I have shortened auction time and reserve the right to end early as the car will be offered for sale locally. Also, there is only a $100.00 opening bid this time so the high bidder will win the auction regardless of final bid if the car is sold at auction. Please bid only if serious understanding the car is sold as is, where is unless I do not advise of problems with vehicle. In other words, if you have questions, ask before bidding. I will answer honestly and quickly. Thanks for bidding.
