Up for auction is this 1964 Ford Thunderbird Convertible. It belongs to another dealer friend of mine who asked me if I would list it for him. I will give you the information I recieved from him and also how I see the car. From what I understand, this car belonged to an older gentleman that had it for over 20 years. We have reciepts totalling over $19,000 that was spent on the car. From what I see it is in real decent condition. The car is a 390 V-8, Automatic Trans, PS, PB, Power Top, Power Windows, Drivers Side 8 Way Power Bucket Seat, Drivers Side Remote Mirror, Tilt Away Steering Wheel and AM radio. The reciepts show that in 2004 a new short block motor was purchased for the car. Also complete rebuild on the transmission. Appears to have had driver quality paint job, new bumpers front and rear, tires, exhaust and brakes. The car is dark green with black vinyl interior and an off white convertible top. The car runs, drives and handles very well. Interior is in above average condition. Everything works. The top works fine but it was very cold out the day we took the pics so we didnt put it down. The body is nice and solid. Fenders, doors, rockers, quarters all look very nice. Floors and frame are in real nice condition. Quite unusual for a car of this year. The only area that I noticed (and I looked it over close) was the trunk pan. The far left and right extensions had a tin patch on top. Looking from the bottom up I could see some small rust perforation but nothing severe. Also in the very front of the trunk pan there is another tin patch on that seam. Looking up from underneath this is in the area where the gas tank and front shield come together. Propbably some water lodged up in there and rusted the seam. Its not going anywhere but to make the car perfect you would address these spots. The major portion of the trunk pan is nice. This is an excellent driver car that wont break the bank and is ready for spring time cruising. We also have a Tbird shop manual that will be included.
