This Concourse SHOW CAR has had a complete ground up restoration early this year and it has won First Place Tophies at the Mustang Owner Club of California (MOCC) Mustang Car Show at Woodley Park in June 2011. VIN Tag Data VIN: 2F03F109584 Body: 76D (Convertible) Color: 5A (Light Pewter Metallic) Trim: CE (Deluxe Vermillion Red) Trans: W (C4 automatic) Axle: 6 DSO: 71 (Los Angeles) It won "Best Original 1971-1973 Mustang Convertible " The car has been repainted in its original color Light Pewter Metallic using DuPont two stage paint in June 2011 and the interior was freshened up with a new carpet and dash. We chose to keep the original deluxe vermillion red upholstery intact because it is extremely difficult to find this color in decent original condition. Rather, it's up to the next owner to decide whether or not to remove the original interior. The original C4 automatic transmission was rebuilt in May 2011. The original engine has never been taken apart, but it still runs good. In addition, the A/C has been serviced with a brand new condenser and freon. Blows Cold! Be the New Proud Owner! Good Luck bidding! Brief History Since the Mustang had undergone a major restyling in 1971, the 1972 Mustang models saw no big styling changes, only minor cosmetic ones. Probably due to increasing governmental fuel economy regulations, all of the Boss cars were dropped from the 1972 lineup. The Boss 351 and both versions of the 429 engine were dropped. During the early part of '72, a special 351HO model was offered. It featured a low compression version of the Boss 351 engine, with a special high-lift cam, mechanical lifters, forged aluminum pistons and a special 4-barrel manifold. The only "performance" model that remained for the entire '72 model year was the Mustang Mach 1. The Mach 1, like all other '72 models, were virtually unchanged. Production for 1972 topped out at 125,093. Only 6121 convertibles were build that year. Base convertible prices was $ 3,227.00 If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (323) 360-1988. Please note this car is also for sale locally.
