1989 Honda Civic Si I purchased this car from a friend whom bought the car in 1991 with 20,000 miles . As an east coast sales rep for Quicksilver Apparel he drove the car nearly 300,000 miles up and down the east coast . He took great care of every aspect of the car and it shows . The interior is perfect with new Wet Okole seat covers and a new sanyo stereo. These cars are nearly impossible to find in this condition ! THE GOOD /In 2001 the original 1.5 liter was removed and a newer JDM engine (zc) code , 1.8 liter Acura Integra engine was installed with 70,000 miles on it . It runs perfect and I would feel confident in saying I'd drive it cross country with no problems . Zippy !!! I'VE PUT ANOTHER 10/15,000 MILES ON IT The exterior is all original with very little rust on one side . the car has never been in an accident and never smoked in Sunroof ! its power and needs the tracks cleaned to be perfect The interior is near perfect . drivers seat has wear on outer corner . My buddy weighs under 140 lbs. so the seats are very solid and comfy. I purchased new Wet Okole seat covers this past summer and they look great ($275) the back seats are perfect . oh yea , gas mileage 30 / 40 mpg ! THE BAD not much to say . The front inner and outer tie rods and shocks all need to be replaced . The tires are worn and will need to be replaced soon. I was told that tierods and tires should be done at the same time. The AC works ok but not great. My thoughts / These cars are getting harder and harder to find in this condition. I've scene reconditioned ones sell for upwards of $10,000. It's a timeless design that is so fun to drive and very dependable. You could fly into RDU and drive back to California no problem. The front end and tires will be fine for a big drive but will need to be replaced soon. Gas mileage is so good I often forget when I bought gas last !
