This is a rust free Califoria/Arizona 1962 Ford Thunderbird. The engine was rebuilt about 2000 miles ago at a cost of $5404.00 (see photo of invoice. I just had the transmission rebuilt after the radiator failed and coolant was flushed into it. The cost was $2265.00 (see photo of reciept). I have also replaced the master brake cylinder and all wheel cylinders and brake lines. The radiator has also been recored. I have reciepts going back to the 1980's and they indicate that the front end was rebuilt about 5000 miles ago, In short, the car is in excellent drivable condition. I purchased the car from a friend whose uncled owned the car until his death. I planned on restoring the car, but just don't have the time. I have purchased a new head liner and new interior door panels (see photos) that are new and in their boxes. They will go with the car. If you plan on restoring the car, parts are readily available from many sources that specialize in early Thunderbirds (see photo of one such catalogue). Being an Arizona car, the interior upholstery will need to be replaced, as it has dried out. The car was originally gold metalic in color and it was repainted once in silver. The paint is fair, but if you are going to restore the car, it can easily be returned to original without removing layers of old paint. The body is exceptionally straight with no signs of rust (other than minor surface rust), or body work. The AC was removed when the engine was rebuilt and not reinstalled. A new AC system can be purchased from Vintage Air for $1300.00 which is lighter and more efficiant than the original, and it bolts right in. Probably cheaper than restoring the old system anyway. This is an original black plate California car, and the license plates will be included with the sale. This is a good, solid, rust free original car.
