1977 Honda CB

OK, I REALLY don't want to sell this bike, but I'm opening my own art gallery in Boston and frankly I desperately need the cash...fast! That is why I'm putting it on a three day auction only. Anyway..... This bike has so much potential to be a great cafe racer. I bought it in the fall of 2010, and last spring I got it on the road and started work on it. I never got around to finishing it, but I put on the clubman bars, brand new high quality seat cover, blue-tinted headlight, four into one exhaust (used but in good condition with minor scuffing and heat discoloration on the headers) and stripped and sanded the tank to bare metal...a look that I really like. It would need to be clear-coated though, or re-painted if you want to ride the bike in all weather. The tank has absolutely ZERO dents or dings and NO rust at all inside!!! I've never seen a more perfect tank on a bike this old. I had the front brake master cylinder comepletely re-built in september 2011, so brakes work perfectly. The carbs definitely need to be cleaned and I never got around to doing that, just been too busy, but I rode it all summer anyway. With the carbs cleaned, this bike will be amazing!!! The overall condition is very nice with no dents or major scratches anywhere, and very minor pitting in some of the chrome, like on the rear fender, and very minor on the rims. Considering it's age, this thing is in excellent condition and has obviously been very well taken care of. The CB 550, in my opinion this is one of the best bikes to make into a cafe racer...it's fast and has great lines!! $500 deposit through paypal within 24 hrs, and no shipping. If you need to have it shipped, you are responsible for that. I don't have the time to set any of that up. If you want to come pick it up I will be happy to help load it. In the detailed pics I tried to show the small amounts of surface rust in chrome like on rear shocks and oxidation on front forks. I never did polish anything on the bike, so it will clean up better with a little effort. All I did was to spray it with a hose when I got it and wipe it down getting the dirt off. Some have asked if it has been restored etc and I want to make it clear that it has not, and it was a daily use bike, not a show bike at all. So if that is what you want you will have to do some work to it. Also, as I was out there this morning taking the pics I noticed that the right side tank emblem is missing. It is either somewhere in my shop, or it may have fallen off somehow on one of my last rides. I didn't even notice till today. I've seen them on ebay and I would gladly reimburse for one. I also forgot to mention that the emblem on the left hand side cover is missing, and that is how I got the bike. Really sorry about not mentioning these before. I never thought much about that side cover because I was planning on working more on the bike in the future and customizing. On the plus side, I can throw in a spare front rim in excellent condition and used caliper in good usable condition.
