Vehicle Detail
Offered for sale is an unmolested example of very collectable Pontiac Trans Am 6.6 Liter. It was parked for many, many years, and once it was discovered, it was gone over and recieved what it needed to run and drive. The previous owner cleaned out the fuel system, replaced the fuel pump, rebuilt the transmission and replaced the torque converter. When I got it, the starter was performing slowly, so I changed that, installed a new battery, and rebuilt the carburetor. The car was given an amateur paint job prior to me getting it, and the prep work could have been better. There are bubbles and spots that still show, but it's not anything that would require panel replacement. The hood has a spot on the driver's side front corner, and there are places around the rear window. The very bottom edges of the doors have a few places, and the quarters and fenders need a little massaging before it gets painted again. It's presentable as you see it, but since this era of Trans Am is becoming a collector item, it deserves to be taken to the next level. If you choose to drive it like it is, you should probably bleed the brakes, fix a small exhaust leak on the passenger side exhaust manifold, and give it a general "once over". I have driven it short distances, and drives and rides nicely. No overheating, no shake or shimmy, and once a few of the little things are fixed ( tachometer doesn't work, speedometer and odometer both DO work, temperature gauge works, volt gauge works, but oil pressure gauge doesn't). The power windows currently do not work, but I'll check into this week and update the auction as I find out more. Might be something simple, and it might be a little more in-depth. The interior is in amazing shape, except for the fact that the upper portion of the rear seat is missing and has been replaced with a new Firebird style upper split seat. The dash has a crack in the center, but is in nice shape other than that. The door panels, headliner, carpet, package tray, sun visors, etc. are all in very nice shape. It has a non-working older style stereo in it, and the dash hasn't been cut up for a newer one. The trunk floor, floor pans, frame rails, and subframe all look great. The underside of the trunk lid and hood look very nice too. You will have to address the body issues I mentioned earlier, but you won't be buying a lot of parts to re-do this car. Overall, it has the correct color, has the correct wheels, has the desirable shaker hood with all of it's components, and a very nice interior in it's correct color. It also has it's correct posi rear, spoilers, steering wheel, and dashboard that make this an easy restoration or "drive it like it is" kind of car. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. If I don't know the answers to your questions, I will get them for you. I want you to have all of the information you need to make your decision. You can call me at 941-626-7682. Also, you can email me by hitting the "ask a question" link. I reserve the right to end the auction early, and if you are a serious bidder, I can add a buy it now. Please don't wait until the last minute since many auctions end before the time has passed. Once the reserve price has been met, I will no longer end the auction early. It will run it's course. Exporters, Dealers, and overseas buyers are welcome to bid. Good luck and happy bidding. On Feb-01-12 at 08:43:00 PST, seller added the following information: NEXT BID MEETS THE RESERVE !!! After a lot of emails and phone calls, I've decided to lower the reserve to the next bid amount, and let the auction run it's course. I didn't think to add a picture of the trim tag, but here is the information from it; 79 09D 2FS87 N 006954 19B 50 L 50U L A51 A31 W54 BL2 190315 The VIN is : 2W87K9N106656 Good Luck...and bid like crazy, but please honor your bid.
