1981 Honda XR

1981 Honda XL 185 S. I am downsizing my collection of 1980s bikes. This XL has been used off road and not licensed for the street. It looks much closer to the 1979 XR185 and 1980 XR200 I have in my collection than the XL bikes of this time what were made for street / trail use. The engine has good compression and runs well. I changed the oil when I brought it in for the winter. The grips are worn / ready for replacement. The speedometer works. The lights work. You can see in the pictures that it has a XR style rear fender light. There are no turn signals or horn on the bike but the wiring is there and the switch / control for them is on the bike. The clutch works smoothly. The brakes work well. The gear shifter is not bent. Shift through all gears. The front forks do not leak and I changed the fork oil this fall when we brought it in for the winter. The muffler and head pipe are in good condition. The muffler has a few dents in it as you can see in the pictures. The gas tank has no rust in it. The gas tank as dents in it. The gas cap is slightly rusted and I also see some rust on the rims. The spokes look good. The chain guards are both there. Long term the chain may need to be replaced and the sprockets. The chain / sprocket cover is there. The side plates are both there and the right had side cover has been repaired. Seat is in excellent condition. The key works and also fits in the helmet lock and opens and closes it. The tires may need to be replaced by the next owner. I am selling this bike AS IS. I do not have a title for the bike. Please ask any questions before bidding.
