Vehicle Detail
Well, I am putting my 1961 VW VolksRod Roadster up for sale for a simple reason, I want to buy another car and I need some money. This car was built by a NASCAR Craftsman in Moorsville North Carolina, He started with a 1961 Bettle and after doing allot of metal shaping, crafting and designing, here is the results. Check out how he took two front hoods and one late rear decklid to creat a "Hebmueller" style rear giving the car it's unique roadster look. There is actual storage under the rear compartment, plus a his and hers glove compartment storage behind each seat. You guys have seen it on my Blogs, you know this is a quality build, it is very sharp looking, never going to be missed in a crowd, draws huge attention where ever you go. It has a 1600cc re-furbished engine with twin new Solex Carbs, Front Disk brakes that have been drilled to 5 lug Chevy bolt pattern, rear drums with adaptors for Chevy bolt pattern. Will run 70mph with no problem all day since it has a 20gallon fuel cell. It has been wired just like a race car with top of the line NASCAR style wiring, it even has two MSD boxes, electronic ingnition, Top quality ET Five Window aluminum rims with BFG WideWhite tires front and rear. It has a keyless start with a theft deterant system, good amount of storage for a small custom car. I also have a Vintage Speed shifter installede and there is not even a hint of rust anywhere on the car. You have to see this car to really appreciate the build quality. I am truely trying to buy another car so I would rather not trade, I also reserve the right to end this auction early because I do have it for sale locally, so if you're really interested, hit the buy-it now option.. I will be glad to answer any questions I can, but i think the pictures say allot about the car.On Jan-18-12 at 14:16:59 PST, seller added the following information: I have had several questions about the title and Vin# the car is titled in Florida as a 1961 VW Beetle, which it is. The title is in my name, free and clear. I added the vin number in the appropiate spot. I hope this helps. On Jan-19-12 at 14:36:54 PST, seller added the following information: Another question that has been asked of me now several times is: " How large a person can fit in this car?" I'm 6'-3" and weigh over 300lbs. I fit in it fine. My head is just below the top of the rollbar, and my shoulders are just a tiny bit above the door tops. I look thru the windshield when I drive the car, not over the top of the frame. I'm very happy with my driving position. Another question has been about the wood floor. This is a floor like in a upscale house, tounge and groove that is installed over the top of the metal VW floor pans, there is a metal sub-structure that the floor is screwed to. It is not the actual floor for the car, that is metal. This is basically like a carpet that has been meticulously fitted to the floor pans. It seems to be very durable, but I don't think it would like getting wet too often.
