Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 This is a NO RESERVE auction for a very original, unrestored 1969 CB750K0, one of the most important motorcycles ever made. The build date is 12/69, the frame number is CB7501016976, and the engine number is CB750E1017048. This 750 has 19946 miles, starts easily and runs smoothly. It is currently registered in California and has the original black California license plate. This is a rust free motorcycle from the dry high desert of Southern California, the chrome is excellent and the cases have no corrosion. I was fascinated by these bikes as a kid, and owning this one has been the realization of a dream. This Honda is every bit as impressive as I imagined it would be, but I don’t have the resources to give it the restoration it deserves. I hope its next owner will. This is a true, early diecast CB750K0 with many parts common only to the sand cast and very early diecast 750’s. Here are some of the parts that distinguish this early 750--It may have additional rare parts, but I am not an expert. Feel free to ask about details on the bike. I’ll gladly provide any information I can: -Wrinkle tank with no rust inside or out. Petcock does not leak. -Ducktail seat with original cover with no tears, red foam and seat base. -Early instruments with 8500 rpm redline tach. -Dished master cylinder cover. -Black kill switch. -Mirrors that clamp to the mirror stalks. -Recessed key switch including original Honda key with corresponding plug for the recessed switch. -Single cut front fender. -Solid, body color painted airbox. -Linkageless carburetors with 4 cable throttle system. -Short chain guard. -Large, vented sidecovers. -Painted headlight ears. This unrestored 750 is more than 40 years old so it has many age related imperfections, but nothing challenging for a skilled restorer. Here are items that I noticed. -The engine starts easily, is mechanically very tight sounding, and pulls strongly from idle to about half throttle, but it doesn’t pull well at large throttle openings. It also idles high when it is fully warmed up. The bike is just as I got it, so I’m sure a tune up and carb synchronization would help it. -Like many CB750’s, the two smaller frame tubes below the main frame backbone tube (under the fuel tank) were removed. This was done so the top end could be removed with the engine in the frame, but I don’t know if this 750’s top end was worked on or not. These frame tubes were removed on so many CB750’s that bolt-on kits (like the one from cb750cafe.com) are available to replace the tubes. If you don’t want to use a bolt on kit, any skilled welder could easily replace the tubes. You can't see that the small tubes are missing with the tank in place, so you may not want to replace them if you plan to restore the bike for display or light, occasional riding. -The original paint on the tank is quite faded and the tank has some light dings and scratches. -The original side covers are faded and the paint on the right side one has streaks in the paint . The side covers are sound but for a hairline crack starting on the right one. -The instruments work properly, but the tachometer lens is cracked and the instrument faces are faded. -The throttle tube is cracked from exposure to the sun.-The bike does not come with a battery. I will ship this bike if the buyer pays for all shipping costs and makes arrangements with a shipper that can pick the Honda up at my home. The bike can also be picked up. Contact me before bidding if you have zero or less than five feedbacks or I will cancel your bid. Please don’t bid unless you will pay for the motorcycle. I accept payment by cash or Paypal only. Full payment required within three days of auction end. Thanks for looking.
