Vehicle Detail

1952 Ford F100 Pick up. This is a southern truck with an excellent frame and very nice body. There are 60 years of regular use on the body and evidence of metal patches and some bodywork here and there but the truck looks great as a rat rod in semi flat black paint. The exterior door handles and door locks have been shaved as have the emblems and some trim. The lights on the back are all located in an LED bar just below the tailgate. Both bumpers have been removed (and about a million pounds) and so have the brackets. The hood and the three teeth for the grill are included with the truck but they are not mounted presently. The tailgate chains are also included but they are not mounted to keep the rear end looking clean. The bed has a one piece metal deck in place of the wood. The engine is a 289 with a Edelbrock 4bbl and C6 automatic. The motor comes from a 66 or 67 car and runs pretty good although there is sometimes smoke from one cylinder on the passenger bank (valve/ring?). It sounds awesome! The battery box has been relocated behind the seat along with a master shut off switch. The gas tank has been relocated to the bed of the truck. The dash is custom with new gauges and pushbutton start. Everything is 12 volts. There is an aluminum radiator at the front with electric fans and an AAOOOOGA horn to go along with the regular horn. There is no glass in the truck. The only glass I have are the wing window assemblies which I was going to leave out and replace with one full glass in each door. The four piece glass set, windshield, back glass, and two full doors, is $310 as a kit on eBay. The rims are late model 15" steel with brand new rubber. The truck had been sitting under cover for a couple years but I flushed the brake, gas and water lines and have been replacing parts as necessary to get it running again. There are many new parts all over the truck. The truck starts, runs, drives, stops (stops in 1952 pickup terms) steers (steering is sloppy) turns off and restarts. None of the suspension has been modified from stock. This would be a great rat rod or hot rod project if you dig the Sanford and Son style. Inside, the seat has been recovered in red vinyl pleat and the shifter is floor mounted. The steering wheel is vintage 1952 from Henry's factory. This is a project truck that is almost ready for the street but not yet. If you can't turn a wrench, own a spark plug socket or floor jack it's probably not for you. For example, I'm working on the head and taillight wiring presently. I pulled the truck from a barn and have been cleaning and fixing but have not had it registered or on the road. In other words, you can't just buy the truck and use it as a daily driver tomorrow. On the other hand, it could certainly be ready for the cruise come spring! I do have a clean south Carolina title, the truck can be driven around the neighborhood and onto a trailer but I would not want you to drive it across the state as is. Email with questions.
