ONE CA OWNER SURVIVOR 390 THUNDERBIRD SEE IT HEAR IT http://youtu.be/YMRGmVczoeU Email for video if this link does not work. I am selling this for a fellow Senior who has had this car in his family since new. It has spent the vast majority of its life in California until relocating here to Arizona with its owner. When you see this car you then know why we covet vintage Southern California cars. I myself a longtime Muscle car restorer/collector, on seeing what a survivor specimen this T-bird is, agreed to put it on Ebay for the owner. Well it is a Big Block after all. I have sold Car parts and collector cars of my own on Ebay for over 10 years and my rating reflects that I am very careful to present things accurately as I can.. I will cooperate with your shippers schedule. I have no stake in this car that would be an incentive to mislead anyone. Someone is going to get an outstanding deal on this car as the Seller no longer has a place to garage it. Buyers are encouraged to come and inspect the car and/ or ask for more pictures. I have the clear CA title in hand, plates expired in 2011. Also verified Vin number on the radiator support and cowl. EXTERIOR BODY, PAINT & TRIM This California Black plate Midnight Tourquoise Thunderbird is really exceptional in many ways. First it is very, very original with truly excellent chrome and bright work. It is a one owner, obviously always garaged. The first thing people say when they see it is "what a beautiful color" and its what we used to call "MINT or CHERRY!" I saw no pitting at all and the chrome and trim are both straight, un-dented and shiny. I don't see that condition on a car this age..... without being fully restored. The Body is straight down both sides with very nice factory panel alignment, no apparent signs of doors, trunk, hood, fenders or quarters ever having been replaced or badly damaged. The paint is shiny, a great factory color too, even shaded and very servicable. Even so we call it a 5 footer. If you get within a foot with the right light you can see that there is microscopic heat checking on the trunk and other areas subject to heavy direct sunlight. There is a buffing burn thru spot on the passenger side about the size of a Liberty half dollar. (remember those?) Still, the car overall is very striking and worthy of all the attention it will get. Drive it to the local shows and enjoy a collector car you can drive in comfort. WHEELS & TIRES The Spinner Hubcaps are very nice and do not really even need restoration. All four Radial tires are nearly new. WINDSHIELD & GLASS The glass is also exceptional, factory logo tinted with no scratches or chips at all even in the windshield. Windows are power and all work except the passenger window. Look at the close up pictures of the window channel which is often a problem with rust.......its excellent! INTERIOR The interior is simply.... Outstanding.... right down to factory carpeting. Seating is beautiful blue leather and looks almost new.. Headliner is near perfect as well. Even the sill plates have well defined and undamaged factory logos. The Dashboard has clear lenses and no faded out gages. Console and control panel look very good. The pushbutton radio does work. The sliding steering wheel does slide and lock. The dash panel lights and interior courtesy lights work including door ajar, low fuel etc. The fuel guage works sporadically. The oil and amp gage are inoperative. ENGINE BAY The un-detailed engine bay looks very factory, a critical requirement for a true Survivor. Under the hood, everywhere you look you see nothing but original parts down to the air cleaner sticker. No red Mallory boxes, nor yellow spark plug wires... no Mickey Mouse at work there. MECHANICAL The car runs well, original engine sounds very strong and smooth revving, stops well & parking brake does work. Engine which owner says is original to the car sounds great and revs smoothly. The gas in the tank is stale so you can smell that and although the carburetor was recently rebuilt, it takes a few pumps to get it started. The exhaust soumds normal and no leaks detected. I did not drive the car on the freeway but the power steering was very responsive and no noises noted and did not overheat after a long idle period. UNDERCARRIAGE A car dealer would say this car is rust free. And although it does appear to be that, I can always find some rust somewhere, so I never say that. I had this on my lift and the floorpans both front and rear look to be original and sound. Frame rails and rockers all look good as well. Some typical surface only rust on the leaf springs. The undercarriage is a little sandy brown. There is evidence of oil leak under the engine, it may be a rear seal. Trunk pictures will be posted as well. This Model's Options Even a Base Model is Luxurious, So I will note some options that were purchased by observation against option resource guides. 390 Cu In Automatic Power Disc brakes Power Steering Slide over steering wheel for ease of entry Options added on this car: 1.Safety Convenience Control Panel-6 option set Toggle switch for safety flashers Red safety flasher warning light Low Fuel warning Light Door Ajar warning Light Vacuum door lock toggle switch 2. Leather Upholstery (most expensive option) On Jan-10-12 at 08:48:40 PST, seller added the following information:ADDED COMMENT #1 One Buyer asked the condition of the dash pad. It is very nice, no cracks, good even color. There is a partial picture among the 24.On Jan-12-12 at 14:45:28 PST, seller added the following information:Owner has said miles are original. Anyone wishing to talk to the owner may email for his number. On Jan-12-12 at 14:53:26 PST, seller added the following information:A question has come up as to whether this apholstery is really leather. It looks like leather to everyone that has seen it. However, we have no documenatation proving so. Unless there is some simple way to verify that, bid assuming it is vinyl. On Jan-12-12 at 15:11:48 PST, seller added the following information:This is what the gentleman that asked the leather/vinyl questions said: "In a leather/vinyl interior, the only thing that is leather is the surfaces of the seats. Usually the seat sides are matching vinyl. Everything else is vinyl. I had asked about the mileage - since this is a one owner car, is the mileage being represented as accurate? (69,000+). Thanks again,On Jan-12-12 at 19:28:20 PST, seller added the following information:Seller said he can be contacted by any bidder at this point regarding the 69K original miles he is representing. As I said it has been in his family since new from a CA dealer. Anyone can Email me for his phone number. On Jan-14-12 at 10:12:49 PST, seller added the following information:*****If you are using paypal for the deposit it should not exceed $550 and first email for my phone number and for correct paypal account name or it may go to an old expired email linked account. Balance of funds can come as cashiers check fed exd to my home and will be to the owner on title. I do not recommend wires*****On Jan-14-12 at 12:57:12 PST, seller added the following information:RADIO-Although the radio appears to look like the AM/FM in the picture on a Tbird website and was playing a rock station when it started, I looked at it again today and I see no indicator giving a choice of AM v FM. I started changing stations and it seemed to be a lot of sports broadcasts. So I think I may have been mistaken about that, so adjust your final bid if this was critical.
