This spectacular Impala with rebuilt LT1 engine was meticulously restored by the owner of 2 very high-end body shops in Southern CA. Simply put, the car is in SUPERIOR OVERALL CONDITION. As for vision and objectives during the restoration, it is a living, breathing, serviceable machine that has exceeded the proud owner’s expectations in every way. This is an extremely fast, reliable muscle car that doesn’t look or drive like a cobbled together pile of aftermarket bolt-ons. By viewing all the photos, it becomes clear that serious time and considerable money was invested to restore and create this masterpiece. Let’s take a closer look: Exterior: Check out the 2-stage, Mercedes Ghost Silver paint. With the exception of a couple minor chips and scratches, the finish looks so deep, you could dive into it. Body gaps between hoods, doors, and fenders are of reference quality, the chrome sparkles like new. None of the rubber seals are cracked and there is absolutely NO evidence of corrosion repair or any other mishap that would cause the enthusiast sleepless nights. Surveying the car's straight and smooth coachwork today, we marvel at the finish. In fact, with little preparation, this fine example of the marquee could be proudly displayed a local car show or Concourse d'Elegance. The 20” Deep Set Polished Alloy Wheels Dunlop SP Sport tires show amazing detail. Speaking of detail, let us stress how straight the body is, how perfect the chrome, how glossy the paint: if you wouldn't know differently, you'd think to be looking at a 4 or 5-month old, not a 45-year-old car. This one is that clean! Engine & Mechanical: Put on your sunglasses to view this Impala’s spectacular engine compartment. There’s over $10,000 in chrome and polished aluminum. Although the intake says Corvette, the engine is actually from a 2004 Camaro that had 34,000 miles on it. With the exception of the chrome and polished bits you see, it is 100% factory original. Of course the wiring looks fantastic, the car always runs cool, and there are no oil leaks worth mentioning. No wear item has been left unattended; as a result, this Impala is mechanically as strong as it is cosmetically. Yes, any Chevy V-8 can be a very tough and reliable with a bit of preventative maintenance! The 350 Cubic Inch, 8 cylinder power plant sounds crisp and runs smoothly, like a turbine, with superb oil pressure, cold or hot. The 6-speed, manual transmission is in perfect harmony with 4.11 Positraction Rear End by Unitrax. The engine starts and idles smoothly in any weather, revs and pulls like an F-16 Fighter Jet, shifting smoothly through the gears with no noises or smoke. Warmed up, the oil pressure and coolant temperature remains absolutely stable, with no hint of overheating even after extended runs at high speeds. Smooth, strong acceleration will pull you into the back of your seat and turn heads coming and going. Oh, and this car won’t be leaving any oil for you to slip on, nor will you see any smoke in your rearview mirror! How about a look underneath: Let’s take a look inside: Interior: The interior with LEATHER SEATS is all new in factory correct style and absolutely immaculate. Though near complete, a few items are needed here including a stereo system and steering wheel cap. Presently the mechanical gauges do not work because they need a wiring conversion kit for the modern, fuel injected engine. Another way to go is replacing with a cool new digital gauge cluster. Glove box and emblems are 100% original. 6-Speed Manual transmission shifts perfectly Bare-bones functionality highlights this original interior.
