Vehicle Detail

This is a rare find! A 1976 Jeep CJ 5 with only 89,708 original miles, mainly from leisurely Sunday drives with the rag top off enjoying the New Mexico weather and scenery. This vehicle has NOT been used, or abused with extensive off-roading, or rock climbing. Take into account the fiberglass tub, soft top, bikini top, custom cover, radiator boot for cold weather driving and years of meticulous attention to vehicle maintenance and this jewel's powerful 6 cylinder engine, 3 speed transmission. This Jeep is great for a casual ride across town, or across the country. Either way, it turns heads and gets compliments wherever it goes. All lights, gauges and switches work, as well as all the interior gauge lights.I became the third owner of this Jeep when I purchased it in 2007 and have only put 4,700 miles on it since. The previous owners were a couple of older fellas from a small farm town, Parkersburg, Iowa. I purchased this classic with the idea I'd make time to tinker around on the weekends and do some upgrades, but sadly my wife finally pointed out the fact that with my work schedule, I've not only had little time to drive it, but have had even less time to take on the projects I had hoped to accomplish. During the time I have owned this Jeep I have installed a new gas tank and accompanied skid plate, new alternator, installed some new electrical wiring and hoses I felt looked a bit worn and of course basic maintenance such as regular oil changes, timing and fluid top-offs. With the urging of my spouse, I have come to the realization that this Jeep should be used by someone with the time and energy to really enjoy it. I'll be very sad sell it, but it's time I let it go to someone who might utilize all it has to offer. The only things I know of that can be considered a negative with this vehicle is that one snap on the rag top needs to be replaced, the original seats are still in place and are fairly worn (bucket seats would look great!). Coming from Iowa, the underside has a bit of surface rust, however that can easily be remedied with a little elbow grease and there are a couple of small, discolored spots of paint on the hood where a bird relieved itself and I didn't notice until it was too late. Otherwise, as a Jeep mechanic told me, "it's tip-top...this is what a Jeep is supposed to be." This vehicle is sold as-is, no warranty. Bidders are encouraged to check out the Jeep in person or call with any questions prior to bidding. Call Jeff @ 505-350-7821 with questions or to arrange a viewing. If you would like more photographs, I will happily email anything specific you would like photographed. Buyer assumes all responsibility for vehicle once the title is transferred.
