Vehicle Detail

Bought this 1959 Chevy Apache 1/2 Ton Stepside with the intention of restoring it, but projects are backing up and I don't have time for it. The only major parts missing that I know of is the driveline. This was originally a 3 speed column shift, but a previous owner cut a hole in the floor and converted it to a floor shifter. Will hold for 30 days after the auction end date at no charge. For each month after (partial or whole) a $20 storage fee will be charged. Deposit is due within 72 hours of auction close and is NON-REFUNDABLE. Remainder of payment can be made VIA PayPal, Postal Money Order(s), or Cash. Money Order and Cash payments should be made IN PERSON ONLY! Please do not send payments through the mail, I do not wish to be responsible for a lost payment. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding! PS- Having a hard time getting the slideshow to update, click the 'View All' button to see additional pictures. BODY: Front Bumper- Mostly straight. No major rust. Lots of paint but could probably be cleaned up and reused. Brackets twisted/bent a little. Grill- Decent condition. No major dents or blemishes. Marker lenses in ok condition. Some pitting/cracking. Trim on markers looks pretty good. Headlights- Headlights and mounts seem to be in decent shape. Trim rings look nice. Small rust hole in bezel around driver's side headlights. Hood- Hood is in great condition. Hinges/springs work well. Chrome on the hood emblem is pitted. Fenders- Various dings and dents. Lots of surface rust. Fiberglass patches applied near the back edge of the hood on both fenders. Appears to be some minor rust-through in the bottom-rear of fenders. Emblems both look great, a little fresh paint is all they need. Inner Fenders- Good condition. No major rust. Holes cut in the bottom edges to access shock mounts. Radiator Support- Good condition. No major rust. Battery Tray- Rusted out/damaged. Will support a battery. Cab- Lower rear cab corners are badly dented and rusted out, will need replacement. Windshield busted out. Cowl/windshield area on driver's side dented, probably repairable. Dent in the roof, driver's side, probably repairable. Dent in the cab above the gas filler, repairable. Floors solid. Firewall in great shape. Hole cut in floor for shifter, originally 3 on the tree, now floor shift. Doors- Drivers door pretty banged up. Possibly repairable. Have another door in much better shape, skin started to come off, repairable. Latch not working. Glass intact, wing glass bubbling. Passenger door dented, rusty. Dent 1/2 way up back edge. Bottom edge folded slightly. Rust hole in front lower corner. Glass cracked, frames ok. Latches/handles functional. Bed Front- Pretty ok shape, not badly dented/bent. Bottom edge of panel cut(?) off. From what i've seen this is just flat metal with straight 45 degree bend at the end. Should be repairable. Bed Sides- Lots of surface rust. No rust-through that i can see. Minor dings/dents but pretty straight overall Bed Steps- Dings/dents but seem solid overall. Bed Fenders- Dings/dents/surface rust, solid overall, should be reusable. Tailgate- A little beat up, but still solid and functional. Might be repairable but would need a good bit of work to look like new again. Bed Floor- Wood rotted out. Bed strips BADLY rusted. Bed cross sills seem intact, might be reusable. Rear Lights- Banged around and bent, but intact. lenses melted in centers. Rear Bumper- None INTERIOR: Dash- Pretty much straight and solid. No major damage. Instruments- Dirty, but no obvious damage. Unknown functionality. Plastis lens in good condition. Some pitting/rust on chrome bezel around gauges. Heater- Appear intact/complete. Controls frozen. Glovebox- Good condition. Latch functional. No box behind door. Steering Column- Steers okay, no binding, free-play is minimal. Turn signal switch is junk. Steering wheel ok, some cracking, horn button missing. Pedals- Clutch pedal works good. Brake pedal moves okay, pin out of place on linkage on frame. Gas pedal itself is usable, but rod to motor is bent incorrectly. Will try and get the brake pivot and throttle rods fixed, will update posting if i do. Seat- Needs reupholstered, but not uncomfortable to sit in as it is now. Seat back tilts forward nicely. Others- Fuel tank and related parts appear to be in good condition. CHASSIS: Frame- Appears solid and straight. Some surface rust, no obvious issues. Front Axle- Solid, front bearings seemed ok, steers nicely. Rear Axle- Rolls ok, no idea what condition the gears are in. Brakes- Don't know, need to fix pivot pin to test. Will try to fix and update soon. ENGINE: 235ci straight six- Gaskets a little leaky. Compression between 84-90 psi on all 6 cylinders, truck had not run in at least a year when I ran the test, so compression would probably improve once some oil got up to the rings again. Starter is functional but has seen better days. Fuel pump is toast. Coil is bad, was working until i forgot and left my jumper wire on it too long. Have a HEI from a GM 250-6, will try to get it in so the buyer can hear it run. Had it running a few seconds by pouring a little gas down the carb before I killed the coil. TRANSMISSION: Transmission seems to shift ok, no binding. OTHER: Radiator is not correct. Looks like it from an early 50's chevy. Holding coolant, but not mounted properly since the mounting holes don't line up. Have a set of aluminum wheels that can go with the truck as well. Wheels are in pretty good shape, tires are all junk except for one that might be usable.
