Vehicle Detail

Here’s an American icon - a 1961 Buick Special wagon! This is a numbers-matching Deluxe model with all the desirable options: 215ci Fireball aluminum block V8, Dual-Path Turbine Drive automatic transmission, Deluxe Interior and Steering Wheel. The two-tone color, stance, and fender skirts make this Texas car both driveable and attractive. The profile of this wagon shows the strong design theme that GM applied to the big Buicks of the early ’60s. This is a great looking car that is a hit at every car show. Cruise in style! Some additional information about the wagon: I've owned the car for about 2 years. It was in Texas for 4-5 years before I purchased it. Before that, it was in southern California (not sure how many years it was there, but the condition of the body leads me to believe that it's been a West Coast car for a long time). The car was originally sold in upstate New York. The previous owner repainted the car and replaced the cargo area carpet during his ownership. Since I owned it, I replaced the front windshield (due to a rock chip), boiled/sealed the gas tank and performed minor maintenance on it. The car is stored during the winter (and will be put away next week). It starts, runs, drives and stops well. I've driven on the Interstate without hesitation. However, I would recommend having it shipped if you're a long distance from me (I live in northern NJ). Remember -- this is a 50-year old car. The radio and the gauges work; however, the heater doesn't -- which hasn't been a concern since I drive it in warm weather. It doesn't have seat belts (although I'm sure you could install them easily) I have some related collateral that goes with the car: 1961 Buick Special Owners Guide; 1961 Buick Special dealer's brochure (12 pages, full color). I'm looking for a back issue of the Buick Bugle that features pictures of the car Sorry -- no trades. I'm selling a few cars this year (thinning the herd), and this is among the first to go
