Vehicle Detail

1965 MG Midget MKII convertible project car fresh out of storage after at least 21 known years and probably more in a climate controlled basement garage. Silver blue with black interior, and the original color appears to have been british racing green. Over all this is a very straight car but does have through rust in both lower quarters and in the front of the front floors, and light surface rust starting in a few other spots. The seats both need new covers, the door panels need to be replaced, but the carpet looks very good. The convertible top fabric is trash and will need to be replaced but the frame is good. The car is equipped with a 4 cylinder engine with dual carburators and a manual transmission. The engine does turn over and is not siezed up, but has not been started for several years. The odometer reads 62,297 miles and that is believed to be actual, but there is no documentation to verify that. The dash is intact with all of it's guages and switches. This car comes with 5 original factory spoke wheels with centers and 4 are wrapped in new Sears brand 6.50-13 bias ply tires. When did they quit making bias ply tires and when did Sears quit putting their name on them , that gives you some idea of how long this thing has been sitting. This car has factory front disc brakes. Known missing items include hood and deck lid emblems and the driver door window. The picture of the parts on the ground is everything I have that is not on the car, the luggage rack has a broken weld but is an easy fix. If you are looking for a Midget to restore back to original or wanting to do the Buick V6 conversion like many have done this car has a lot of potential and a very solid base to start with. Although this car is not perfect, it has not been abused in anyway. All of the parts needed to resore this MG are available from Victoria British located in Lenexa Kansas so you will not be out hunting and chasing parts. I have tried to describe this car to the best of my ability but have probably missed something that you need to know, if so just ask. If you are close and would like to inspect the car in person prior to the end of the auction, again just ask and arrangements will be made. The car comes with a good Missouri title. The reserve is set very reasonable for this caliber of vintage sports car and the winning bidder will not be disappointed. Thanks for looking, good luck in the bidding.
