Vehicle Detail

This listing is for the following: 1980 Porsche 911SC. 935 Slantnose widebody installed in 1980 in Germany - Documented on a Fahrzeubrief. Euro car. 1986 3.2L engine rebult/installed in 2005 in Germany by the late Jerry Pearce. He was President of PCA of Germany and from what I hear very well known in the Porsche community. The entire underside was replaced and upgraded at that time. 5 speed manual was rebuilt in 2005. 2 Owner car 3 keys Gotti Wheels with 225 50R15 on front and 275 50R15 on the rear. Gotti wheels are hard to find and popular back in the day. The tires are in great shape. The front tires are Fulda and the rear is Nitto. There is a gouge on the LF wheel lip around 1.5 - 2 inches long. Here is what I can tell you about the car. It was purchased new by a Doctor in Pleckhausen. He had the 935 slantnose widebody kit installed in October 1980. The car was re-painted at that time. The color is a 1980's Alfa Romero color. The 2nd owner purchased the car in Bonn, Germany in 2002. As I stated above, the late Jerry Pearce who worked tirelessly at the President of PCA Germany rebuilt/installed the engine. The car was upgraded to a 1986 3.2L and the whole underside was replaced and upgraded. The transmission was rebuilt at the same time. The car does not have A/C and I don't have the compressor. Everything seems to work except the clock. There is an aftermarket JVC radio. One day it works great and the next day it will have a pause for 1 second while on a radio station. It plays a CD just fine and it sounds pretty decent. The rear speakers are on the floor in the back. I have chosen to not do anything with the stereo and speakers as the new owner may want to do something different than me. The car was brought into the states in March 2009. The 2nd owner is in the military and most likely heading overseas for an extended tour and that is how I got the car. He didn't want it sitting for a long time. I can tell you this, he was a FANANTIC about this car. He said I was the only guy to drive the car since he owned it. I knew he had an empty feeling watching me drive off in it when I purchased it from him! I would rate the exterior a 7.5/8.0 out of 10. MILES: I would have to assume that these are the original km on the car, but I have no idea and neither did the previous owner. It was brought into the states "EXEMPT." So, this sale is an "Exempt" sale due to the engine swap. BODY/PAINT: Like I said it was re-painted in 1980. It is 30 year old paint and to me it looks really good. There are a few chips on the hood. On the left rear quarter there is an L crack that is probably 1"x1". On the passenger door underneath the mirror, there is what I call lifting going on. It is a 3"x3x" section. If you notice the outside mirrors are not factory. The mirrors where removed and covered up. I don't think the material used cured 100%. So, you will see a light texture and appearance flaw. I really pondered fixing this for a week and I made the decision to leave it alone. I don't like to do any paintwork unless it is necessary. It would be a hard color to match and in my opinion it won't match. There is a minor spot on the hood about 1/2"x1" line near the RF fender. There are 2 of those spots. Those would be easy to fix, but I left them alone. I have had quite a few people look at the car when they heard I owned it. I have gotten nothing but positive remarks to the paint. I always ask for other people's opinion to make sure they feel like I do. I got nothing but hey....I like the condition/appearance of the paint. It shines up pretty darn good. INTERIOR: I think the interior looks pretty darn good. The headliner and visors look good. The seats look darn good too. I noticed some small scuffing on the outside bolster on the passenger side. The seats are comfortable to sit in. Dash and door panels are in good shape. The power windows seem to work with no issues. I would say it is an 8.0 out of 10. MOTOR/TRANSMISSION: I think I hit this good above. I will say this thing starts right up and sounds good. It is clean under the hood and I can't tell of any issues. It runs GREAT and is very impressive. I was told the motor has around 2,000 miles on it. I have no reason not to believe a Military Ranger. I just noticed a minor leak and I have not tried to determine the location yet. On the right side, I see 3 drops around the size of a dime. Not sure if it is from an oil change or what. No smoke is coming from the engine. I have put about 300 miles on the car and I have not had one issue. I have enjoyed it very much and it gets a ton of looks. When parked you will get people admiring it and taking pictures. I had somebody take my picture the other day while I was driving it and they sent it to a friend. He sent it to me saying...hey look at this Porsche. I go...hey that is me in the car. RIDE: When driving this car, you can feel the road. The previous owner took a 300 mile trip to have a specific Porsche mechanic align the car and balance the tires/wheels. On a bad part of the highway you feel it, but on a smooth part of the highway...it drives smooth. I feel this car won't disappoint anyone. Please remember it is 30 years old but a very very nice car. Please don't ask me what the reserve is on the auction. I buy cars all the time with no idea what the reserve is. Bid to Win Baby! Bid to Win! I hope I have not missed anything here, but that is a possibility. Please ask any questions you have. Thank you for looking and don't forget Bid To Win! I feel that my reserve is very fair.
