1986 Corvette with 4 Speed Doug Nash Overdrive I was given the corvette by my brothers widow to sell for her. He recently passed away from Agent Orange cancer that he contracted while serving in the US Army in Viet Nam. This was one of many vehicles he purchased to fix up. He never got the chance to bring the Corvette back to it's original condition. The car has a good body all over but the interior needs a complete revamp. All the dash gauges lite up and work well. The dash area looks really nice all lit up. The electric windows work but the driver side does not go all the way up, the top is removable but I am not sure if it is called a T top. It is a one piece plexiglass roof. The electric seat on the drivers side works. The telescoping/tilt wheel works fine but it is very loose for some reason. I don't know what is wrong with it. The gas shocks that hold up the back hatch glass are both missing. The car starts every time without a problem. My brother had a brand new clutch installed along with a new master cylinder, new smog pump, new alternator and a new timing chain. The only reason he changed the timing chain was because it had a really noisy Pete Jacson gear drive assembly that made it sound like it had a blower or big supercharger. I guess the noise was too much for him so he pulled it and put a new high quality timing chain set into it. The headlights work but the vacuum hoses are not on the headlight door openers so I don't know if the headlights open and close. The carpet needs replacing. I would consider redoing all the interior. The paint is probably original and the car definitely needs a new complete paint job. The transmission makes a really bad noise in first gear but all other gears work great. Sounds to me like it has a broken tooth on first gear.
