This 2001 GMC 2500HD is going to be missed. We are selling the truck because our company has shifted gears and we simply could not find a justification to retain it. It has been meticulously maintained and always has been the company president’s vehicle. He used it to travel up and down the east coast giving estimates on jobs. This truck has the 8.1 liter 8100 Vortex gas engine which has 496 cubic inches. All that power is matched up to an Allison transmission and a GM heavy duty rear end. This is a highly sought after combination and still runs like new. The truck has after-market dual Flowmaster exhaust that has a great deep throaty sound but isn’t much louder than the stock exhaust. The push button 4X4 works perfectly. This vehicle has a factory installed tow package and trailer braking controller. All of the fluids were changed before the factory recommended mileage. A dealer service was conducted at 150K. Transmission flush, transfer case flush, both axles gear oil changed, radiator flush, new brakes all around, steering components tightened and re-greased, lubricated all chassis components possible. Our plan was to keep the vehicle until we could sweep it up in a dustpan, but the new business plan dictates otherwise. The exterior of the truck is good condition. The color is champagne (I was told). No rust anywhere on the body. The front bumper has a small dent that is covered by the license plate. The passenger side rear “C-post” or right behind the rear door has a small scratch. It is just through the paint but did not go through the primer. It was like that when we purchased the truck and we have never bothered to fix it. The rear fender on the passenger side has a few scratches as well. These scratches are on the fender flare, which is made of poly-plastic material and has no rust potential. Same side at the rear bumper there is a small dent. It is not a creased dent only buckled and could probably be pulled. The driver side rear fender has a few light scratches on the lower portion. The driver’s side C-post has a “ding” behind the rear door. That is all the damage I know of. I have pictured all these issues. As you can see in the photos, this truck looks great and has a nice shine to the paint. It also has the hard fiberglass tonneau cover that is painted to match the truck. I was told it has been on the truck since it was purchased. It really helps the truck stand out. The bed of the truck is in excellent condition. I want you to be pleasantly surprised at the condition of truck when you buy it. We get a lot compliments on it, especially with the 496 badge. These factory premium wheels look really sharp. The tires are heavy duty 10 ply 265/75/16. All four match. These tires have less then 10K miles on them. The mirrors are OEM factory addition power tow mirrors. These are extendable (manually) and adjustable from the cab. They are also equipped with a heater to melt away any frost on those cold mornings. The rear window also has a defroster. The interior is also in great condition. The driver seat is electric with the ability to raise, lower, tilt, move forward and back, and recline. It also has adjustable lumber support. The passenger seat is fully adjustable as well. The rear split 40/60 bench seat has the drop down arm rest console. It will also fold down completely to make a platform in the back that can be used as a bed or for transporting items. The truck is equipped with an AM/FM stereo with CD player. It also has a cassette player. The speakers still work but are not as clear as they once were. The truck is very clean. There is a small hole, looks like a cigarette burn, in the driver’s seat. The truck was not smoked in since our company has owned it and has no smoke smell. We were told by the previous owner that a deer ran into the truck at the driver’s side rear bed area. The damage was minimal and was repaired by the GM body shop in his area. I cannot tell where the damage occurred or was repaired. This truck has current VA State inspection. There is a crack in the windshield that developed from a rock chip. The crack is about 4 inches from the bottom of the windshield (center to driver’s side) and is about 12” long.
