Vehicle Detail
Thanks for viewing my listing. Have a look at these photo's and see for yourself, one of the most unusual BGT's ever produced. I listed Other in the color column, because the choices Ebay offers don't do it justice. It's called Limeflower, which is somewhere between Yellow and Green, and very rare, as it was only offered for the 1973 year. This magnificent survivor has original paint and a pristine body without even the slightest hint of rust. The underbody still has all of the original factory undercoat, and sound deadening material, and every nut, bolt, and washer, has never been removed, so every body panel is original, including every factory spot weld. It also has one of the best original interiors I've seen, with its factory original crack free dash and perfect upholstery and headliner. The engine bay paint, is also all original with its original stickers, and not repro's. I purchased this BGT from the original owner, who incidently is a meticulous pilot with an intense concern for care and maintainence, so every mechanical function is like an airplane after its yearly annual. The cylinder head on this original matching number engine (18V672Z-L15406) has the upgraded valve guides and and hardened seats to operate properly with today's fuel. There's no UV damage, as it has always been garaged and never left out in the sun. I searched for this car to make it my personal vintage driver as it is specially equipped with factory tinted glass, called Climaglass (see picture), and together with truely ice cold AC, makes this the ultimate BGT. A steel dash '65 through'67 BGT is the one to collect, with all its simplicity, but a '73 or early '74 equipped like this one is the one to drive. I've driven it through the summer at temps over 90 degrees, with the AC on, and the temp guage never even reached the middle. So ! If you're wondering why I'm parting with this gem, it's only because I have purchased a '74 Alfa Romeo GTV in equal condition, that was my other vintage driver choice, but had given up on, believing it just didn't exist. If I were to keep this MG, my plans over the winter were to have an overdrive transmission installed, which would make it an interstate cruiser as well. There is a local high level foreign car repair and service shop, that has a completely rebuilt OD trans for this MG, that they can install for the winning bidder, and warrantee for 12 months or 12K miles, for $1500. I can also ask them if they will sell it outright, if you have the ability to do it yourself. These pictures were taken today, so you can see what autumn is like in wine country. This listing has a reasonable reserve, as I'm not sure what the market is, with not much out there to compare with. I can arrange worldwide shipping to your door. For those of you with 5 or less positive transactions on ebay, please contact me before bidding to let me know your intensions. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
