Vehicle Detail

Hello, and thank you for checking out my auction. Christmas is here and the kids wont accept bags of dirt as toys, so the wife is making me sell my darling VW Bus. Is it perfect? No. Is it awesome? Yes! This is a '71, ask any VW guy and they will tell you the 71's are the best..., you can be assured this rolling toaster will stop ('71 brakes are fantastic)... I bought her a few years ago from a neighbor kid who had lost his driving privileges after getting caught smoking pot in it with his girlfriend (shocking, right?)... I put a new starter on it, tuned it up, cleaned it up a little and drove it around the neighborhood and to work a few times, and then parked it when the inspection ran out. It will need fresh gas, and maybe a jump start, but it is mechanically sound in every way. I bought new brakes over the summer to put on, I was intending to finish everything on it and get it on the road over the winter, but life keeps me busy and I only got the front drivers side on before I found myself distracted with fixing my 79' z28, and I haven't messed with it since. Here is a rough run down of the Good Engine was rebuilt by reputable local mechanic by the previous owner and has less than 1000 miles on it since rebuild..., somewhere i have some paperwork to back this up, but i dont know where, it will be included if I can find it New Brakes - Need to be put on Full Tune Up - Oil Change, Trans Flush/Fill, Plugs, Wires, Filters, Belts, Gas Lines, Etc Has a tent that was purchased for $350 by the owner before me and is mostly new (not pictured, but I will get a pic up tomorrow of it) Comes with full camper interior, z-bed, chair, upper shelf, closet, upper cot (not pictured), childs cot, bug screen, original jack (I have 2), spare tire, leather spare tire cover, as well as an extra engine block (someone gave it to the original owner, not sure what it came out of)... It was a fine running machine, shifted perfectly, and has been cared for even since being parked. Now the Bad.... The kid who had it before me dented the nose in the grocery store parking lot when he bumped a light pole..., its nothing terrible, but the nose has a punch in it... The drivers side rocker panel needs about 7 inches replaced, and there are a few small holes in the drivers side dogleg. It also has two small holes in the front floor board, one on each side, both are fairly small and easy enough to fix, there is also a small hole in the cargo floor that's behind the passenger seat (not pictured, but I will post pics tomorrow). Outside of that, it's AWESOME. The frame is solid, the floors are solid outside of the two small holes...., and though its not perfect, it's a great bus. The sliding door is perfect, the track has no rust on it, as is the case with just about everything over about knee high on the bus. It's a great candidate for a restoration if you wanted an easy one to fix up..., I priced the replacement metal at $350 to make it perfect..., or if you arent looking to mess with metal work, you could "fix' it with bondo or fiberglass for about $50..., though it would be a shame to bondo such a good bus. Dont miss out on a great chance to get a '71 for a great price (go search the completed listings and see what is comparable for the same price), I hate to sell it, but I just bought a '79 Z28 over the summer, and have been putting all my time into it..., and now money is tight with Christmas, and it's time to make a sacrifice... I'm not looking to get rich off it, and im not looking to pawn it off on someone..., I have around $3000 in this bus so far, so you are getting a steal... I will post more pics tomorrow of the tent up, and the few spots that arent pictured..., Ill try to get a good shot of the underside as well. Shipping/Pick Up is the buyers responsibility. I will require that payment is fully cleared before the bus can be removed from my possession. I will accept cash, cashiers check, or personal check, due within 48 hours of auctions end. Feel free to ask me any and all questions you may have, and I will try to answer them the best I can. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!! On Nov-27-11 at 22:14:20 PST, seller added the following information: Oopsie-Daisy!!!! Somehow I accidentally clicked Automatic and not Manuel for the description, but this is a Manual Stick Shift bus and not an Automatic. I dont know if I just didnt see it, or if i clicked it wrong with my mouse when setting up the listing, but I wanted to be clear that this is a Manual Transmission bus.
