Vehicle Detail
This 1988 Group 3 (FZA3) true collectors edition IROC was the 132,883rd Camaro to roll off the assembly line at the Van Nuys California assembly plant. A complete list of RPO’s is available upon request if you cannot make them out in the picture. In 1988 there were 96,275 Camaros produced, of that total: 24,050 of the 96,275 were IROC-Z Coupes (1FP87) 24,158 were Flame Red (Dark Red) (L8748) 19,662 came equipped with the power antenna (U75) 16,185 were equipped with 12,116 were equipped with the 350ci, 230hp V8 (B2L) – only available on IROCs 5,966 were equipped with rear window louvers (DE1) 9,941 were equipped with the locking rear storage compartment (D27) 4,457 were equipped with the BOSE sound system (UU8) The above noted options are what make this car a one of a kind dealer order (1AY) car. This IROC-Z features an upgraded suspension with lowered springs, specially valved shocks, larger diameter sway bars, a special decal package, and an optional 5.7-Liter Tuned Port Injection engine that was borrowed from the Corvette. This car is in great condition but is not new. All power options function. It starts, stops, and performs, as you would expect a 95K mile car would. This car runs & drives excellent. This car has upgrades and includes many of the original parts that were removed, a list of aftermarket parts will be provided upon request. Chevrolet assembled LESS THAN 4,457 IROC-Z's with these options in the 1988 Model Year. How many survived? Better yet, how many 95K mile, 5.7 liter, BOSE sound system equipped examples still exist? Whether you owned a third generation Camaro in high school or if you just had a poster of the legendary IROC growing up, it is time to re-live that memory by owning one today. If you have been searching for a loaded limited production 5.7, Tuned Port Injection IROC-Z then this may be the car for you. Please ask any questions prior to bidding.
